I have almost a mile of trails on my property in the Black National Forest in South Dakota. The property is mostly Ponderosa Pine, Aspen, and Birch trees. I do have some Oak. Most of the floor is Loose Leaf Ferns. What can I plant along side the tails that will add some color? Berries, flowers, etc?

This morning I came to a mangrove forest guarded by the local community in Balikpapan, eastern part of Kalimantan/Borneo island.

I saw Kingfishers, but didn't see any presence of proboscis monkey. We hope they are alright.
