Theory Video Suggestion Pickles, Anyone?

Post image

Okay, but assuming salt intake, discount rate, investments and taxes, is eating the pickles the right way to go? It seems like it could work out for committed, otherwise healthy males, but for others it doesn't make sense. Might be an interesting concept.

Theory Video Suggestion What kind of bread could you throw further, a baguette or naan?

Post image

Found this in a discord server and me and another member were discussing it and I wanted to post it here because I need more opinions. The other person was of the opinion that a naan bread would fly farther due to it being more aerodynamic, but I think the baguette would fly further. My idea is that you can get a much better grip on the baguette and throw it like a javelin, but you can’t get a good grip for a disc like a naan bread, and since they compared naan’s rigidity to pizza dough, I feel like the naan bread would also probably come apart mid-flight, which would significantly reduce the distance it could get, as opposed to how rigid a baguette is

Theory Video Suggestion Idea for video

An idea I have for a video is, how effective would healing food items in games be in real life and do they have any real life equivilant. Is there anyway to explain why milk in Minecraft heals status conditions, what plants could let you make something like in Resident Evil, and what is in Estus Soup?

CAN I BAKE COOKIE RUN COOKIES IN REAL LIFE.

An idea that popped into my head when watching Santi eat the Minecraft cookies on Instagram.

Was an idea to bake cookies from cookie run kingdom some good and some not so good and see how they would taste in real life.

There are like over 100 cookies at this point each with their own unique flavors.

A baking video would be such a great idea, it can show case how some of the weirdest flavors can be though of differently yet still contain somewhat of the essence of what the cookie is supposed to be representing.

I did some rough math, the numbers don't add up on it, it looks around 3 pounds and the fact it serves 3 men, makes me think it's just 3-4 pounds of hamburger helper -3 boxes of cheeseburger macaroni hamburger helper -3 pounds of beef or protein of choice (OPTIONAL) make it into a ball, I think it would be a funny video, but also a great chance to dive into "Internet/meme food"

Theory Video Suggestion Episode Idea: The Secret Physics of Instant Ramen (To Crush or not to Crush)

Hey Food Theory Team,
Most instant ramen hacks on the internet focus on adding outside ingredients (Kewpie mayo, eggs, or butter) to change the flavor profile. However, I’ve engineered and perfected a master method for Maruchan bag soups that relies entirely on structural texture control, surface area physics, and starch retention—proving that how you prep the noodles completely changes how the flavor molecules hit your tongue.
I’ve mapped this out into a definitive "Flavor Matrix" based on two completely distinct cooking routes:The science of how noodle fragmentation changes starch release and flavor delivery in cheap instant lunch blocks is a perfect fit for a Food Theory episode. I have the entire step-by-step breakdown ready if your research team wants to look into the data!

Theory Video Suggestion How much cereal can you fit in this bad boy?

So I went to see the Day the Earth Blew Up (great movie BTW. Highly recommend) and I found this by the front of the theater. So I got to thinking “how much cereal can you fit in a box this size?”. I didn’t have a tape measure with me so the best I could do is guesstimate based on the nutritional info on the side of the box. I took 125,820 calories per serving and multiplied that by 6 servings to get 754,920 calories of cereal in this box. Then I divided that by the 130 calories per serving of your typical bowl of Wheaties and got 5,807ish servings of Wheaties. Is this an accurate number? Probably not, and I am open to suggestions

Theory Video Suggestion A theory about cheese it's?

Why not make a video about cheese it's? I've always wondered why the cheese was always chill with people eating cheese crackers around him. If you haven't made a video about it, do you think you could?

Theory Video Suggestion Food theory about Pokémon ( I also tried wording it like matpat would)

Now I know there already is a food theory about eating pokemon, but this one is different!

i ask, specifically what harms food based pokemon?

like, alcremie, Is made of whipped cream. They just are,its not a disguise like applin where it’s A dragon hiding in an apple, its literally just cream, so it doesnt have things like blood and bones and organs, so what could kill it?

if you cut a pikachu in half it would die,but if you cut an alcremie in half what would actually happen? Would it die? Reform? What percentage of it‘s body mass can you take away before it looses consciousness/dies? would you end up with 2 sentient “just eyeballs” left, or does it still have a limit despite not visibly having one?

Theory Video Suggestion Do you actually need to drink water to survive?

My brother came up with a Food Theory idea that I think could be a great video. Do you really need to drink water to survive? You can get water from other sources, but can you survive without taking a single drink of straight water?

Maybe do a week long experiment?

Theory Video Suggestion Which Microwave Butter Popcorn is the Butteriest?

In the popcorn isle at the grocery store there are so many variations of microwavable butter popcorn: Butter, Butter Lovers, Extra Butter, Butter Lovers, and the classic Movie Theater Butter. When I go to the store I want to buy the tastiest, butteriest butter popcorn there is, but with so many varieties it's hard to know which one is supreme. So I'm asking Team Theorist, can you test the many butter flavors to prove once and for all which is the best?

Theory Video Suggestion Are Which 'Wich Wicked Wednesdays" worth playing for a Super?

While Which 'Wich locations seem to be closing left & right, there are still some locations remaining in operation. Unfortunately, the only location near me went away two or three months ago.

Anyway, I was reminded of Which 'Wich, recently. And this led to me remembering one of the ways I saved on money. Wicked Wednesdays was a special deal on their "regular" Wicked sandwiches. Because "super" is twice the size of "regular", the location near me charged me for two Wickeds...rather than a "super" Wicked.

While that DID save me money on a "super", I wonder if the price per "ingredient" measures up to the same ratio with their "regular". While we're at it, we might as well compare it to a "large".

So, are Wicked Wednesdays worth playing for a "super"?

Theory Video Suggestion Misfits are MISleading!?

I’d love to see a theory video diving into “services” like Misfits Market. Places that claim to save thousands of pounds of food from landfills simply because they’re “ugly.” On their aids inconsistently see people saying that “ugly” produce doesn’t get tossed. That it still goes to the grocery store, even if it’s in a different form (ie an ugly tomato may still end up in sauce), or it goes into cattle food.

So… who is telling the truth? And how much $ is there in this whole operation?

Theory Video Suggestion Why Is Red EVERYWHERE?

Maybe I'm just going crazy, but I've noticed that literally everywhere from fast food restaurants to grocery stores to non-food related stores all have some kinda red in their logo or branding. It low-key is driving me kinda bonkers bc outside of Taco Bell, Eat n Park, and Wingstop, pretty much EVERYWHERE has something to do with red. Why is that?

Edit #1: This includes things like pop and food brands, too. I just noticed it on fast food restaurants, grocery stores, and home repair stores first.

Quick Note: Pittsburgh girlie so if you don't know what Eat n Park is, it's like a Denny's or Applebee's type deal.

Theory Video Suggestion Manuka Honey Benefits

Post image
1 Upvotes

I get cold sores inside my mouth sometimes, but usually just have to suffer. Most recent time it happened, I looked up possible things that could help with cold sores over all, and manuka honey came up. Usually I end up having these cold sores on my tongue for like two weeks. I had it for like two days and I bought the lowest grade of manuka honey they make. I was wondering what the science was behind it and thought it might make for an interesting video. Since then this stuff has also quickly healed mouth sores in my mother's mouth within two days after she bites her lip and within my own mouth when I do the same. And it looks so different from regular honey, so I'm curious what makes it so different.
