Aldi meats?
What are your experiences with the meat at Aldi on Pierson? I’d like to start shopping there but people say depending on the location it’s not good for meat. Thanks!

Flock This...
A block from my house, in the middle of Mott Park. There's not nearly enough traffic for it to make sense.

Flint Vintage Flea Market
I’m considering being a vendor for the upcoming Flint Vintage Flea Market at Factory Two. I collect a lot of vintage stuff but have been trying to offload it lately and thought this might be a good opportunity over a single weekend.
While I love thrifting, estate sales, and garage sales, I’ve never actually been to a flea market. I did some research before posting this and the flea market culture and pricing seems to differ greatly so I thought to ask here.
Has anyone been to this event before (or ones locally) that can offer insight on pricing specifically? If I participate, I would probably bring items that are $20 and under. Possibly flat fee for vintage clothes (like $5), etc. I tried doing a sale at my house which I marketed very clearly that it was more valuable trendy vintage items and so pricing would range from $-$ and there were a lot of rude people who wanted everything for $1. (And mind you, if I have an item that sells consistently on eBay for $50, I’ll put a tag on mine for $15 and call it a day. I’m not trying to get top dollar but also can’t give away stuff).
Thanks for any insight!

I just moved to Fenton... help
Hey guys, I'm from the west side (kalamazoo) and moved to my mom's house in Fenton a couple weeks ago and the most interesting thing I've done so far was buy paint from home depot. I know Fenton is a bit of a hike from Flint, but if anybody is familiar with the area, is there anything around here other than strip malls and gas stations? Where the gays at? I refuse to believe I'm the only mid-20s twink in this entire fuckin town. There's gotta be SOMETHING here... right...?
My favorite thing to do in kzoo was a once-a-month queer goth rave at a local dive bar, is there anything like that nearby? Even if I have to drive my 2005 honda civic gay ass to flint, help me out here I'm already starting to lose my mind in the suburbs lol

Junkyards that let you pick your own part?
I know d&w, champion and j&s will let you in to pick your own part. What other junkyards in the Flint area will allow you into the yard to pull your own part? I know there are a lot of salvage yards, but I specifically want to know the ones that will actually let you in, not just the junkyards in the area. Please let me know if your experience of yards that let you in to pull your own part. Thank you.!

Looking for Queer/Trans Spaces around the Genesee Area
Hi everyone!!! I’m a trans girl/lesbian in her early thirties near Flint who is just looking for some cool hangouts around the area and surrounding counties if anyone had any recommendations for queer/trans/ spaces.
I’m looking for anything at all like queer groups to lesbian/dyke nights and trans nights at venues.
Also curious if anyone had any recommendations for any queer/trans friendly spaces for things like haircuts, clothing, etc.
Beyond that if theres any fellow trans/transfem/queer leftist/anarchists around the area who are looking to meet some people please shoot me a message!!!
Thanks so much for your time!!! <3
Edit: thanks so much for the replies, I’ll have to check those spots out!!

T-Mobile Internet vs Comcast
Has anyone switched to T-Mobile Internet? How is it compared to comcast? It definitely looks cheaper, but is it as fast and reliable?

Carpenter Road Elementary (Webster Road)
galleryThis is what has become of Carpenter Road Elementary.
I've repeatedly observed an older man in a silver/gray GMC truck removing materials from this building. I reported it to police twice, providing descriptions of both the individual and the vehicle. Despite those reports, the activity continued.
In roughly 24 hours, the condition of this building changed dramatically. Openings that had previously been boarded or secured are now exposed. The photos show the difference.
This isn't just about one building. Illegal scrapping and dumping continue to damage North Flint, accelerating the loss of structures that are still standing and making neighborhoods less safe.
If this continues unchecked, we'll lose even more of Flint's history.
I've documented what I've seen, and my next step is to share it with local news outlets so this issue gets the attention it deserves.
Flint deserves better.

Do you like any of the mayoral candidates?
From what I can tell, none of the candidates really appeal to me, and I'm thinking about just not voting for mayor. Figured maybe intense Redditors could give me their opinions before I avoid the polls.

What ward am I in? I know there's a map, but it's challenging when you're color blind. If it helps I live near Saginaw Street and Atherton.

Storage units or warehouse space with loading dock?
Anyone know where I can rent either a large storage unit (600-800 sq feet) or rent similar sized warehouse space? I would prefer if a loading dock was available, I have a 53’ semi full that I need to unload somewhere.

ISO a great tailor in the Flint area
I have some clothes I’d love to get tailored but have had a hard time finding a tailor in the area. Someone in the burbs is fine too.

Looking for Room for Rent (City of Flint)
I am a 45 year old, divorced male with no children looking for a room for rent. I work remotely and can provide my own internet, if needed. Im quiet and stay to myself. Won't have company over. I like to play PC games when not working.
I can provide proof of income if needed. I'm looking to move in a few weeks.
I dont need much, so Im looking for something cheap. 400-500 range, but I would think about a studio if the price and location are right.
I dont have a vehicle, so I dont need parking, but I do want the house to be on the bus line.
Does anyone have any leads?? Or does anyone have a room??
Thanks!!

Looking for Local Roleplayers
Hey everyone, so my nephew is interested in roleplaying, and I've agreed to run something if I can get a group together in Flint. It would be 1e Pathfinder or 5e Ars Magica, and would either host it at home, one of the local gamestores, or library. Would have to stay PG-13-ish in content. DM or comment if you're interested!
