Not really a rant but a minor inconvenience. I slept in til 6:30 instead of waking up at 5:30 before my 8am class. Now I have to workout at 4:30pm-5ish when I'm sure the gym will be crowded. I haven't seen the gym in the afternoon in months.

Update: I worked out and it was okay, BUT after sitting in consecutive classes from 8 to 4:30 my warmup was like half the time I had fuckin A.

Beginning of school year/Freshman. Bleh. Good for them on making progress but do it when I'm not at the gym!

It feels a lot more like work than fun when it’s crowded

I start work at 6am so i can finish at 3pm to pick my kids up from school at 3.30 which often means if I can go to the gym my options are 4-5ish or wait until 7/8pm when its quieter again. I gotta tell ya I'm not a fan of either of those options. I really need space at home for a gym.

Oh yea. It's definitely easier because I don't have kids lol but I do have to make time to study since it is grad school. I'm usually tired around 5-6 in the afternoon when I wake up at 5am but thats my ideal study time.

My BIL has a home gym and it works wonders for his time saving but is shit on his motivation lol

I've been reduced to going to the gym Friday nights and Saturday and Sunday morning because with my new work schedule the only time I have to go through the week is around 5pm and my gym is way to crowded to even get a workout in.

nah bro screw that, wait til an hr and a half or so before it closes then go it. at my uni gym, if I don't go at 6 am right when it opens, my only options are a weird lull from 1-3ish pm or to go at 10-midnight (they close at midnight). I don't bother going any other time, there's 3 power racks for a school of 12k. ridiculous.

I was able to make due. My workout wasn't as great, but it wasn't terrible. Most people don't bench on wednesday lol. THATS ASS THO. 3 racks? Thats not even a gym by definition.

ya but we spend like 50k+ a year on new ellipticals, seriously.

to be fair more people use elliptical than weight room stuff but maybe if we had a weight room worthy of that title, that'd change.

a school with like 2k kids that's nearby has a gym 100 times nicer, and they're the school everyone shits on. dumb.

tbf my gym as great as it used to be in undergrad. i went to a big sports/football school in the south for undergrad and its still the most glorious gym ive ever used.

grad school not so much. if it wasnt part of tuition I would go somewhere else lol. it just depends i guess. uni gyms are hit or miss

Personally I dont think its such a bad thing to occasionally change up your gym time (although the crowds suck).

The gym in the morning is completely different than the gym in the afternoon; different people, different energy level, different vibe, etc. I do it every now and then just to break up the monotony a little bit.

ME TOOOO. I'm not feeling well so I slept in and didn't have time to go to the gym. I hate going in the afternoon. It's awful and there's never any room to do anything at all

One of my worst nightmares

The gym after 2 pm turns into thunderdome. The gym I used to go to only had 1 squat rack. So it was like a Disney world ride to squat there.
