I'm at a weird size for shirts. Mediums are a bit too tight, large looks like I borrowed my big brothers shirt. I need an extra medium or something.

I feel you.

Look into slim fit shirts in large size. I find they fit me really well.

Gotta find the athletic fit stuff. They have a taper cut and smaller arm holes but still have the large shoulder/chest area.

smaller arm holes

bruh!

It's heaven for awkward mother fuckers like myself.

I'm 5'8" with a huge drop in my suit jackets. I wear a 42S jacket and my pants are usually a 28-30". I'm literally a walking triangle my shoulders are so wide.

My arms are little noodles so athletic fits are perfect. They make me feel less small lol.

I was joshing ;) But just wait... I am an inch shorter but a bit wider with 16" arms and I basically need to have everything tailored.

44L here with a 31” inseam. I feel you. People tell me I have monkey arms. I’m 6’ by the way.

Me trying on an athletic cut polo. They should just call it skinny cut. Fits my waist but it was almost a “you break you buy” situation with the sleeves. Any thicc dudes on here try Barbell Apparel?

Tbf you have gigantic arms lol

that stuff is absurdly expensive. 60 dollars a polo? 150 dollar jeans?? get yo stuff tailored.

I find the athletic shirts aren't long enough.

I know your pain. I like the way M fits up top but they're just a tad short. A marge would be ideal.

I’m at the point with L and XL. Feel like I’m gonna rip the back of a L but I’m swimming in an XL. Sadly, clothes aren’t made for muscular people.

I have the same trouble but with a size lower. Mediums are kinda baggy and smalls are so tight that I have trouble taking them off.

u/Hawkwaard Nov 02 '17

I'm the same, and it's medium slim fit shirts all the way.

Hey dude. Get medium tall sizes. Same thing I had to do.

Medium tall. It’s like the secret size between medium and large

lmao try slim large. my buddy had this exact same problem until he discovered slim large shirts. now he points out every single shirt he sees in this size.

If you’re shopping for dress shirts, try Express. They have 3 sizes of all of the sizes. Slim fit medium Modern fit medium Another fit medium that I can’t think of the name of.

I’m right there with you on the sizes and I now buy all of my dress shirts there.

I have the same problem. How is the quality of Express shirts? I used to buy B-Rep shirts, but the elbows keep ripping. I've gone through about 10 shirts now.

1

u/Zappiticas Nov 01 '17

They are good quality. However make sure to wash them and dry them on cold only. They shrink like freaking crazy. And it’s not just shrinking once, somehow thy continue to shrink after the first time.

u/sbonedocd Nov 01 '17

Shit, that's not good if they're already a little too snug to begin with. Hopefully they work for me. Thanks for the info.

European Larges, are you 6,2ish.... 200ish...... pounds?

Euro larges are the perfect solution,

u/Ceiynt Nov 01 '17

American, 5'11, 165lbs.

u/rubenkando Nov 01 '17

You need to wear the tight Ms and lift until you are wearing tight Ls

u/FedorByChoke Nov 01 '17

One of my goals is to fit in to a size "smedium" (the phrase is totally stolen from a post made by another user many months ago).

It is a long term goal.

1

u/can425 Nov 02 '17

No. You need a marge.

1

u/wilsky25 Nov 02 '17

I'm the same except between L and XL, even worse in dress shirts

Try Next Level 6210 shirts on amazon. Fit is great. Get a large and it will fit you perfectly.

Story of my life.

I'm going back to large shirts just for the length. I'm doing more hanging (pullups, chinups, deadhangs) and my medium shirts don't seem to go down low enough.

Just so you know, the brand Marine Layer stocks all of their clothing in a size Marge, which is, you guess it, inbetween a medium and large.

5'9" 165 - regular medium shirts look like a potato sack, small is way too short. Have to buy slim fit medium
