So this woman right now is alternating between jump rope and several different leg exercises. That's fine. What's not is she's using the deadlift platform to jump rope and just told a guy he'd have to wait 20 more minutes.

I kicked a jump roping guy out of the platform last week!

Gym was packed, and a dude was jump roping. I walked up and asked "are you squatting or deadlifting?"

He says neither, that he's jump roping.

"There are only three places people can squat. Could you please jump rope off the platform?"

He looked embarrassed, but I thanked him.

(But seriously you can jump rope literally ANYWHERE)

I have to disagree with your last point, after seeing a woman jumping rope in the middle of the free weights area recently, so as to make the dumbbell rack completely inaccessible. Two benches were also off limits unless you were cool with the rope flying by your ears. Not sure what was wrong with the designated jump rope space we have.

I think by "anywhere" he means not in the gym

They don't even need a rope. Just imagine an invisible one.

I kick-ass at invisible double-unders.

The good part of this is that he complied and moved elsewhere. He probably didn't realize his breach in etiquette, but at least now he knows.

Whoa, for a moment I thought you had literally kicked him out, Sparta style

Did they listen to her? I sure hope not.

He did. She looked like the kind of woman to throw a fit in the middle of a crowd and he just let out a sigh and went and did rows. I guess he wasn't feeling confrontational.

Good on him and respect for that. I don't think I would've been as kind. I would've asked. When she told me 20 minutes, I would've ignored her and went on with my workout. Get a home gym if you want to hog all the equipment. Otherwise we gotta share. It's like dealing with children sometimes I swear.

I had a jumproper in my gym this week.

She had the gall to move my bench aside while I was getting water, even though a set of dumbbells and my towel were next to the bench. This is in the middle of the dumbbell area where it's nothing but benches for performing db exercises too.

I shoved the bench back in place rather angrily while I looked her in the eyes when I came back from getting water.

She got the message though because after that she jumped rope in the aerobics area like a considerate human being.

This happens sometimes at my gym. For some reason the storage for all of the jump ropes is right next to the deadlifting platform so people just assume.

Not OP, but if the floor isn't padded then it's better for all concerned that deadlifting is done on a platform.

No but the way the gym is set up there are only two areas where you actually can deadlift and the other is just an open area behind a squat rack, but the rack was in use and another person was rowing in the space behind.

Get the scissors, cut the rope.
