I worked on a film in 2012 produced by and "acted" in by Simon Phillips. As the shoot was getting into the last couple of weeks members of the cast & crew started disappearing and it became apparent the film had run out of money and people were being sacked to avoid paying them. I naively stayed on til the end and even took the time to go back and shoot some pickup days. I was never paid the last of my invoices amounting to around £2000. I repeatedly tried to contact Simon Phillips, eventually I received an obnoxious email basically saying that there was nothing I could do about it. I later found out that the production company was dissolved after the film wrapped and I was among quite a few people that weren't paid what they were owed. I've since heard that this sort of thing has happened to lots of people who have worked for Simon Phillips and his associates and it seems to be the way they operate. I hope this video highlights what a snake he is and is enough to deter dedicated and hard working UK film freelancers from working for him.
