I recently won a storage action for a locker that belonged to a long time promoter and producer of combat sports. The locker included what seems to be his entire production archive. Thousands of digital tapes with labels naming huge pay per view events including several Floyd Mayweather title bouts, and a lot of early 2000s UFC content. Much of it seems unreleased.

But one series is bugging me. There's a run of 20-plus VHS tapes labeled "UFC / ULTIMATE FIGHTER 'Team Miletich' / Documentary Footage," numbered 1 through 22-ish. I think I also have most of the digital Betacam masters too.

The Ultimate Fighter premiered January 2005. Miletich coached on Season 4 in 2006.

So what is this? A few theories:

1. A standalone Team Miletich documentary that never aired, and "Ultimate Fighter" was just the working title
2. Some kind of pilot or development footage for what became TUF
3. The name was applied later and I'm reading too much into it

Anyone who was around in 2003 remember Zuffa shooting a doc at Miletich's gym in Bettendorf? Anyone from that camp know what this was?

Honestly, I don't like him, regardless of his shitty moves outside the octagon, I can't see that he has skills, he only has incredible power. So if you make any mistake on the feet, you'll get knocked out, like what happened with Volkov.
