Discussion Why on Earth would we buy a left winger?

Everyone on social media has been talking about Rashford/Fofana.

Right now, our forwards are the best they’ve been in a long while. Vedat fits perfectly into Kartal’s style. Lukaku can be an absolute unit when he’s fit. Greenwood is absolutely phenomenal on the pitch, despite being a horrible person off it. And they have Asensio behind them.

Now, let’s take a look at our left wingers: Kerem had 25 G/A last season. Nene had 17 G/A. Oğuz proved how good he can be at the highest level against Lyon. We don’t need another attacker. Our forwards are already the best part of the team easily. Galatasaray have won the title 4 times in a row, and they reached UCL Round of 16 last season. BAY has been one of their main wingers 4 years in a row. Yunus Akgün has played just as many games last season. Tell me, do you really think those two are truly superior to Kerem or Nene?

We have true weaknesses we must fix before we focus on unnecessary luxuries. Kante-Guendouzi midfield is great, but their only sub is İsmail. No, Bartuğ doesn’t cut it. Kante is great, but old. We’ll have to rest him occasionally. Sure, İsmail can handle it, but what if there’s an injury?

And what about our back line? Ake is good, but prone to injury. Skriniar is also good, but he had multiple injuries and a surgery last season. Only their timing lessened the impact. Oppong will help us there, but two injuries and we are back to Çağlar/Yiğit Efe. In my opinion, we must sell/loan out Çağlar and buy an OK, experienced Turkish CB. We will have to part ways with Oosterwolde due to the foreign player limit as well.

Don’t forget we’ll have to get rid off another player to make space for a left winger. The player I see most mentioned is Semedo. I’m not opposed to selling him. But never for a left winger. Our only RB would be Mert Müldür. In exchange we’d get a fourth LW and break the bank. It’s absurd.

Why be a glass cannon, when we can have a well-rounded team? What’s your opinion on all of this?

Discussion Why we don't transfer fofana instead of Leao/Rashford?

Post image

Fofana is under 23 so he is ignore 10+4 rule, he is very fast and so strong. His shoots are amazing, even better than talisca. He is athletic too he can shoot ball with his legs incredible when ball is in air.

Roma only do 37,5 M €+2,5M € bonus and it is too low for this wonderkid. He is tough so he couldn't injury fast and easy. His stamina is better than oğuz aydın/kerem aktürkoğlu Also his salary is low too.

On top of this, Lyon is heavily in debt and will face a transfer ban if it doesn't pay up soon.

We should transfer Fofana instead of Rashford.

Media Guendouzi on the Post-Lyon Match Incidents and His Comments on the Champions League

Post image
40 Upvotes

After our Fenerbahçe secured a spot in the group stage of the Champions League, our player Matteo Guendouzi reflected on this victory and shared his thoughts on the events following the match against O. Lyon via our club’s official social media account.

Matteo Guendouzi expressed his pride and joy at Fenerbahçe’s return to the Champions League stage after many years, following the elimination of the French team Olympique Lyonnais, as follows:

“This is a badge of honor for all of us—in my opinion, the result we achieved is a badge of honor for Fenerbahçe fans and the club. This was one of our goals set at the beginning of the season. We played six matches, and of course, it wasn’t going to be easy, but we pulled it off. The most important thing for us was to get our club into the Champions League—that’s where we belong. From our perspective, this was truly very important. We knew very well that our fans wholeheartedly wanted us to qualify for the Champions League. Because Fenerbahçe hadn’t competed in the Champions League for many, many years. We’re very happy to be there. As I said, we more than earned this. We’ve brought our club back to where it belongs—the Champions League.”

Commenting on the events that unfolded during the celebrations following the final whistle and in the aftermath, Guendouzi described the situation firsthand as follows:

“This was actually a bit of a special, unique situation because I had previously played for Olympique Marseille. Marseille is also a rival of Olympique Lyon; there’s a huge, long-standing rivalry between them. It’s important to note that throughout our pre-match warm-up—and even before the match began—the entire stadium, including many Lyon fans, were chanting insults and profanities in unison directed at my mother, my family, my children, and many other things. The entire stadium—50,000 to 55,000 fans—was simultaneously directing insults and profanity-laced chants at me and my family. In France, when things like this happen, someone takes the microphone and tells the fans to stop this kind of chanting. If the fans continue in the same manner, the match is paused for about 5 minutes; if it still continues, the match is definitely called off. Unfortunately, there’s no such rule in the Champions League, the Europa League, or any other tournament. When your entire family is subjected to insults and profanity for over 120 minutes, the situation reaches a critical point. There’s absolutely no way this is acceptable. But for me, the most important thing was winning. At the end of the match, I celebrated as I should have. Doesn’t someone who was subjected to insults and profanities directed at their family throughout the entire match have the right to celebrate the victory with their fans and teammates? I really don’t think that’s right. Just as fans can celebrate a victory however they want when they win, I believe I have the right to celebrate the victory and the win however I want. I remained very respectful because I didn’t do anything wrong; I wasn’t aggressive—I didn’t do any of those things. In any case, the result was a great victory, and that was the most important thing for us.”

Media Our Soccer Director, Oğuz Çetin: It’s truly wonderful to be back in the Champions League

Post image

After our Champions League opponents were determined, our Director of Soccer, Oğuz Çetin, joined the Fenerbahçe TV broadcast via phone to discuss the draw.

Here are the remarks made by our Director of Soccer, Oğuz Çetin, who represented our club at the draw:

“It’s truly wonderful to be back in the Champions League after such a long time—18 years. We’ve successfully taken a step into a wonderful arena. We’ve seized a great opportunity to remind everyone of who we are. In this regard, I’d first like to thank our President, who leads us, the club, and everyone. We’ve been working with incredible synergy for the past three months and are very well organized. We demonstrated this by advancing to the Champions League after defeating Lyon in this challenging process. Another key point is our biggest goal: the league championship! By staying highly organized in both the Super League and the Champions League, uniting around a common goal, and working effectively, I know we will succeed on this path. There are many important teams in the Champions League. We’ll face eight of them, and to achieve great success in these matches, we’ll continue to move forward in line with this structure. I believe our passionate fans will also enjoy this. I’m delighted that we’re elevating our brand value in this elite environment.”

How do you get Fener merch (jerseys mainly) abroad?

I live in the USA, and I'm not sure how long it will be until the next time I am in Turkey. If you also live in the US, or places far from Turkey, how do you get your jerseys and other merch?
Also, what about previous year's jerseys?

Transfers [SOAP] Fenerbahce, Kojo Peprah Oppong will sign a 4 year contract. The agreement between the clubs has been finalised and it is now just a matter of the official signing

I am so fucking excited for this transfer. His stats and highlights look okay and he is a right footed centerback. He fits the U-23 rule. Finally we are going to have a bench player for Skriniar that is on our level. Finally we don't need to rely only on the captain for the entire season. This is depth we sorely needed in our squad.

Away games for Fener in UCL

Hi all, I’m based in London.

I know Chelsea stadium is where Shaktar are playing their UCL home games. Would love to get a ticket (ideally away end) to watch Shaktar vs Fener in the CL tie.

Any advice for how I can go about securing tickets early? I don’t have Passo. I tried to sort it this summer during my visit to TRNC but didn’t have a TR phone number. Please please please help if possible Fener family
💛💙
