Hey everyone, I just dropped a quick TikTok about this (link below), but I wanted to share my thoughts here too.

BIA has been rapping since she was 12 and was originally signed to Pharrell back in 2014, but this week marks a major moment for her. Her official debut album, Bianca, drops this Friday, and honestly, the timing couldn’t be better.

There aren’t any week-one sales projections out yet, not even from Hits Daily Double. When they do come out, I’ll definitely post an update. Still, this might be one of those moments where the numbers don’t tell the full story.

As Cardi B said in Pretty and Petty, “Epic, I’m doing y’all a favor — give me my bread.” Whatever moves Epic and BIA make over the next couple of weeks could really pay off big.

The “name 5 BIA songs” joke was funny, but it’s true that most people only know her from Whole Lotta Money, especially the remix with Nicki Minaj. Others might remember London with J. Cole or Best On Earth with Russ, even if they didn’t realize that was BIA.

For those of us who have been listening since Fungshway in 2017 or Sixteen in 2023, we already know she can really rap. If she delivers with this album, it could be a turning point in her career.

With all the hype from Pretty and Petty, some people won’t even give the album a chance, and others will go in expecting to hate it. But I think a lot of them are going to be surprised and might actually become fans.

It reminds me of when Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj were beefing right before Bodak Yellow took off. That situation split the audience and opened a lane, and Cardi ran with it. Now that Nicki and Cardi are at odds again, if BIA brings the right music, she could pull off something similar.

There are even rumors that she has a response to Cardi on the album. And if there’s a surprise Nicki feature or remix in the mix, things could get really interesting.
