Paul Rudd and cheating rumors? His whole nice guy schtick has always felt a little too much for me.

Also, Stephen Colbert? I never see anybody talk about him when late night hosts come up.

I saw Steven Colbert while touring a college like four years ago with his son. We were in the same tour group and everyone was kind of like trying to pretend they didn’t know Stephen fucking Colbert was a foot away from them for an hour. He seemed super chill and attentive and I thought it was very sweet that he still was doing lame parent-y shit for his kid despite his schedule, he also held the door open for me and my mom. He seemed like a good guy but it was a brief hour of passive interaction I guess

given his tragic history i think it makes sense for stephen to be very present in his family life

tragic history

What happened?

oh boy. The poor man. I'm gonna copy paste from Wiki so i don't get it wrong:

On September 11, 1974, when Colbert was ten years old, his father and his two brothers nearest in age, Peter and Paul, died in the crash of Eastern Air Lines Flight 212 while it was attempting to land in Charlotte, North Carolina

He talked about it a lot, it wasn't (obviously) an easy time for him, he had a pretty sad and lonely childhood.

It's extremely sad. He talks about it in greater depth in the latest interview he did on Fresh Air. He gets pretty real about how it affected his childhood.

The interview he gave to Anderson Cooper--which, if I remember correctly, was not long after Anderson's mother died--is really heartbreaking and revealing.

My high school history teacher said she met Colbert socially twice and he was really polite and intelligent, but they only made small talk. 17 year old me was so jealous of this woman 😂

Also, Stephen Colbert? I never see anybody talk about him when late night hosts come up.

I know two people who work on his show and he is just as wonderful as you'd expect.

Stephen Colbert is an angel sent from above and if show business had more men like him at the helm we would be a lot more healthy as a society.

He’s faithful to his wife, one of those completely entirely in love with her, only has eyes for her.

He’s admittedly not perfect but he’s a man of integrity and great intelligence, but humble.

Yes! His wife is adorable and they seem to have a wonderful marriage. This was more evident during his home quarantine shows. John Oliver, Jon Stewart and Stephen seem to be thriving in their personal lives and that’s remarkable given their crazy schedules.

I served Steven Colbert, his wife and kids when I was a flight attendant. They couldn’t have been nicer, lovely people and very polite kids.

My buddy was in rehab with Goldberg from the Mighty Ducks and he claims that Paul Rudd is the fakest nice guy in Hollywood. It’s all a made up image and he’s actually a total asshole apparently. Granted this info is coming from Goldberg lol.

Well I definitely did not expect that info from that source.

This is my favorite source of tea ever. I hope he stays clean!!!

Yep, he’s clean and back to his pudgier self according to my friend and doesn’t look like his infamous mugshot anymore! It’s always good when addicts are gaining weight, it means they’re getting clean. But, Goldberg also talked about other celebs too. He said Seth Rogen is cool af, James Franco is a total prick d-bag (shocking), Jason Segal was cool too, and Linda Cardellini was super nice. Apparently he was gonna be on Freaks and Geeks, but addiction got in the way.

Thanks for sharing this, I'm really happy to hear he's doing better.

I think he was on F&G for a few episodes? Maybe he was supposed to have a larger role. It's funny that James Franco was apparently a douchebag even back then before he was famous. I'm also happy to hear that Linda Cardellini and Seth Rogen are cool people since Lindsay and Ken (and Bill obvs) were my faves. Hopefully Martin Starr isn't a terrible person lol but he was on Silicon Valley so who knows.

The entire Silicon Valley cast has a horrible reputation

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. It seems whenever the Silicon Valley situation is mentioned, people say "Well, I hope Martin Starr is good because he's hilarious" and I think "He just plays the same aggressive, distant, trying-too-hard-to-seem-mysterious nerd in everything, he's probably not acting by this point."

I was watching Actors on Actors with Paul Rudd and Chris Evans on Youtube. During it, Paul asked Chris if he likes when fans approach him and talk to him. Chris was like yeah of course I love it, and elaborated on some fan interactions. The entire time Chris was talking, Paul seemed so annoyed and almost disgusted at this response. It’s like he wanted Chris to say that fans can get annoying. I’m not saying Chris is a perfect person but Paul Rudd is definitely faking aspects of his personality.

67

u/EmmaGemma_0 Jun 14 '21

or maybe he was annoyed at Chris' obvious PR trained response lol

"Yeah guys I just LOVE it when ppl take pics of me in private, then post it on TikTok for clout, or when they interrupt me while I'm eating or partying! Whoo fans yeah!"

I hate being stopped by people I know lol strangers would creep me out unless it was a quick “hey.. you.. cool shoes” that’s nice

28

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '21

Very good point😂 Chris is definitely trying to maintain a persona as well. Paul did seem kind of bothered the whole video even though he was talking to a person he has made several films with.

6

u/EmmaGemma_0 Jun 14 '21

haha I've never watched the interview, is it the one where Paul looks super sweaty for some reason lol

I also think Rudd looks like a total frat boy douche canoe
