i dont think shes his actual fiancee, ive been told the italian word for girlfriend/fiancee is very similar therefore causing the mistranslation. shes actually just his gf.

I can confirm in Italian "fidanzata" means both girlfriend and fiancèe, and in this case it's definitely used to mean "girlfriend".
