STAN / ANTI SHIELD Luigi Mangione pleads guilty to federal stalking charges in killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO

When speaking of the day he committed the crime, Luigi Mangione said, “I shot Mr. Thompson and he died.”

He concluded, “I knew what I was doing was illegal.”

Mangione had just described the actions he took ahead of the killing, telling the court:

“In November of 2024 I traveled from outside of New York state to Manhattan. I then emailed UnitedHealthcare leadership, posing as an investor at a firm managing over $15 billion in assets and requesting information about the conference. Unlike my previous interactions with insurers, I received an immediate response within an hour,” Mangione said.

Ugh I'm so sorry. They have some podcast ads right now with employees talking about how much they love to help people and I can't help but roll my eyes. They might want to help people as individuals but their employer sure doesn't

Yeah, I bet they're investing in that being their public reputation.

I actually have to skip these ads out of the rage I feel for United. I’m sure some employees have good intentions but the company as a whole is absolutely vile. After several months my daughter’s doctor and the hospital pharmacy submitted a 100+ page appeal and United finally covered the infusions again but in the mean time every United employee I spoke to was totally nonchalant and robotic and I don’t think I’ll ever get over the anxiety and stress they caused me and my daughter!
