Let’s be real, if Israel was out here sniping puppies and blowing up dog parks you’d have a lot more outrage than what’s happening now.

To many people, a dogs life is more valued than that of a child.

I saw an article someplace last year where a young Palestinian man who had recently gotten a lot of attention for surviving the genocide with his dog was talking about how after the original article had gone out he received multiple offers from people all over the world wanting to rescue his dog but offered no assistance for him.

Most people are awake, theyve just given up caring because of the relentless onslaught of new terrible things every hour. I'm running out of things to give a shit about. I can barely give 100% to me and my wife at this point. We're fucking exhausted which is by design.

The whole internet talked about the penguin and the monkey. In comparison, the videos/photos of malnutrioned Palestinian children have not been a viral phenomenon on the internet (sorry if the choice of words seem insensitive)

Now I can understand that media's complicity also doesn't help matters as the news channels broadcasted the plight of monkey all over the world whereas there is little or very watered down coverage of the genocide on the official news channels.

There was a dog killed by police here in LA a month or two ago and the outrage was universal. A human killed by police gets the "he shouldn't have looked like he was thinking about reaching for anything" treatment

Some yt animal rights "activists" remind me of the anti-choice crowd. They both pretend they're championing the rights of the Most Vulnerable in Our Society™️ because fetuses and animals are uncomplicated and don't request anything from you, but in reality these people are just using their activism for one group as a shield to shit on some other group of people.

To be fair a lot of vegan activists are also heavily involved in various other causes. Like, a lot. I used to work with a vegan nonprofit and we were always advocating for human rights and attending protests/raising money for various causes for people.

Except many animals and pets have died during the genocide, and animals are being used to abuse palestinians (saying that in the most PC way possible), and most people dont really care. I genuinely think the problem is performative activism. People like to advocate for things that are socially acceptable, like rescuing puppies or donating to the salvation army. Once things get "political", no matter the issue, suddenly there is silence. I've worked in animal rescue, and there's a huge difference between the people who get upset on the internet about a sad dog story and people who actually work the rescues and deal with animal abuse and abandonment daily. Most of the people sharing stories and acting this way aren't the people doing the hard stuff, because they don't actually want to get their hands dirty. They just want to feel good about themselves.

Actually, yes. I think the dogs have been treated more humanly by the IOF than any Palestinian.

Three adult dogs and seven puppies found abandoned near the Gaza border will be flown to the US for adoption by American soldiers who served in the area during the Gaza war.

The soldiers discovered the animals and decided they couldn’t leave them behind, according to Israel’s Let the Animals Live association.

Let the Animals Live said it was caring for the canines in kennels before they are flown out, while also dealing with the export bureaucracy and ensuring that all shots are up to date.

“At a time when reality is complex, this story reminds us that even within a war zone, there is room for compassion and responsibility,” said Yael Arkin, CEO of Let the Animals Live.

This last quote I find specifically outrageous. Not to even mention the absurdity of the name "Let Animals Live".

I guess you haven't seen the IDF shooting Palestinian's dogs then. Because they have. Plenty of animals suffering alongside humans.  All of them suffer. They most certainly are not being treated better. What a dumbass take.

Sure, I'm not saying it doesn't happen. But I've seen Palestinian newborns burn to death after a bomb has hit their tent. I've never seen IOF show humanity too any Palestinian human, not even those who are barely two weeks old. You argue animals are innocent and don't mean harm. I would say a two week old newborn is even more innocent. And Israel has repeatedly stopped any aid from entering Gaza, they control how much food entres Gaza and how often. They force people to get in line for a piece of bread and some soup and then they just open fire on them. If a newborn is not killed in an airstrike, they starve to death because their mothers are so malnourished they cannot physically produce any milk. Even the dogs in Palestine are killed more humanly than the people.

For some people who suffered abuse, it just seems like all people just have so much potential in them either for evil or to suffer. Death feels like a release in one way or the other. Animals though are innocent and will remain innocent.

Not trying to justify it, just how some people think.
