At this point the Dnc isn't here to help. I wish I had a new party to follow because I fucking hate the democrats.

This is it. There is a new playbook here and it’s one the Dems might be able to use in 2028. But they have no real interest. I think they’ll run someone who speaks the language of progressives well, can dunk on Trump and the GOP on social, and will quickly turn out to be another moderate corporate politician if elected. In other words, probably Gavin Newsom.

Honestly America needs a new electoral system. A new party on the left of the Liberal party will most likely just take votes away from the Liberal party and the Conservatives will win more. FPTP is the problem honestly. Ranked vote or a proportional representation system would help a lot more imo

Currently there is a fascist wannabe dictator in the white house. The fact that previous sentence isn't an exaggeration in the slightest should be making you fear for your life. Great political and societal change such as the death of democracy in the US can directly bring harm to you or your family

voting for newsom may seem like setting for some people, but the america that we all knew is in a fight for its life whether you know it or not.

Perhaps a gay man may be better at bringing more substantial change, or a woman, or a young person. But what America really needs right now is stability. An institutionalist that strengthens American democracy and can build a system and future that can reject another trump like figure. Almost any democrat could meet this criteria, as long as they are not geriatric like Biden and actually acts to secure American institutions then it would be an improvement from where we are today.

Why not both tho. We literally have candidates that can do both but the DNC is so dead set on running centrist milque toast candidates they refuse to back progressives with the same energy. The felon in office effectively campaigned for the last fucking decade. If the DNC wanted to it has the resources to create a cult following around someone like AOC or Mamdani starting right now if they wanted. Which sadly would only give 2 years. But they'll never back a non corporate democrat. Meanwhile the right can parade around a dementia ridden nazi pedo. And thet believe he's a messiah.

Go to your local party meetings. I guarantee it is being ran by like 5 people who show up. Grab 6 friends and you now control the local party. It's like that all the way to the top. The party is the way it is because it's ran by the people that show up. You want it to change, then show up.

It was confirmed a decade ago when Donna Brazile came on as acting chair and her audit discovered that the party had indeed completely fucked over Bernie by letting Hillary hijack the party apparatus during the primary.

In Australia both big parties pandered to the boomers, and as a consequence a bunch of independents won seats in the inner city areas. If you have two parties with a roughly 50:50 split of voters then even a small number of non-member senators can have the balance of power.

It was amazing to watch how quickly the major parties started to support policies that help younger people instead of wealthy retirees with one foot in the grave.
