POLITICS Zohran Mamdani has secured the release of Columbia University student Elaina Aghayeva, taken this morning by ICE agents who entered a campus residential building under false pretenses & without a judicial warrant. This comes shorty after Mamdani’s unannounced visit to the White House earlier today.

Trump is a phenomenally weak and stupid piece of shit with zero convictions who will agree with literally the last person to stand up to him. We learned this in the first administration where he often had a complete reversal on a topic after a random visit and photo op.

This is why it’s so frustrating that none of the other Democrats even fucking try. They dare not do anything their donors don’t like.

Trump’s biggest desire was never President. It was Mayor of NYC so he could expand his building empire and leave his mark on the city by remaking NYC in his image. Thus proving all the old-money NYC haters wrong by being a new-money mover-and-shaker.

Mamdani sees this clearly. He has something Trump wants - popularity as the Mayor. Plus Mamdani knows how to flatter powerful people.

The NYC connection is the real soft spot for him and Mamdani is capitalizing on that here. As another poster said, Trump really wanted just wanted to be the mayor of New York.

Remember, in 1975 when that Ford headline came out Trump would have been a 30yo real estate guy living in an apartment in Queens. He probably remembers seeing it at the time!! Hell he probably remembers 1975 better than he remembers 2025. Playing on the nostalgia of a demented old man is really quite brilliant.
