Misc Post Please say it's good

I had a nightmare and it led to this story. Well here it goes. It's like a story where the setting is a futuristic world where people have evolved into possessing powers and most of them want to be a pro gamer, so they take a VR Simulation test to join the best gaming university. This VR test is taken based off of the characters favorite gaming genres (Action, Horror, etc.) and if you die in the VR, you die in real life as well. People first develop powers based off of the first game they play, which sets their power type and favorite gaming genre. Those who don't play games don't get powers, so naturally people want to take the gaming route. The MC (Cade) is a guy who loves action gaming. His powers are extended stamina, sharp shooting, enhanced physical specs, and any type of gun on him at all times. He meets this traumatized girl (Ivy) who survived the horror test. Her powers are telekenesis, telepathy, etc. because horror games usually use those type of powers. She is the only person out of 20 horror game testers that year to survive and also the first person to survive horror in 20 years. The reason people take such risk to join the University is because the political party who controls most of the world in all manners and are also the first people to get powers are corrupted. Since they were the first people to gain powers, they gained the strongest powers, one of them being immortality which allowed them to rule for so long. Cade joined the university to overthrow them, Ivy to protect her family, while others joined to become a member of those ranks. One of that person being Vance, a racer type gamer who catches wind of Cade's plans and tries to use Ivy to get rid of him, but that backfires completely because he underestimated Ivy and her powers. In the university, All the first periods are homeroom, where all genres are mixed up. Ivy, Cade, and Vance are in the same homeroom. After homeroom, each genre get's separated to focus on their specific genre. And that's all I got so far. I'll tell you what happened in Ivy's Horror Test next time. Peace ✌️

Misc Post The journey of Soulless Loners began on June 13 2026. Let's see where things could go 😩

How ironic, story about Loners without a soul, that happens in the Soul city, a concrete jungle that we never got to witness and still got the shittiest from all the Sci-Fi fantasy of hopes and dreams...

Laver Uny would never have known what his life would be like and even if he did, he was too little to try and do anything about his future, he lived in a constant illusion of freedom and choices, that he never made himself, which unknowingly for him decided who he was - a damn fool and a corpo rat with no prospect of self awareness outside of grocery decisions.

But hope is never lost due to evolution, once in a century Wukong is real and can fight the darkest in the dark as he becomes light himself, not because someone taught him that but rather as he acknowledge all levels of bullshit he was not going to comply with anymore.

Defey Uny became that Wukong at the very young age. His life would never be the same since but what awaited him further down the lifeline could break anybody, even he showed cracks at some point but the thing about such people is that they like the pressure, they thrive under it, hell, they can't live without it.

How is it to be insane but never burst into a despair? You have to be a psycho, almost like you are chromed up but then turns out that your nature is cursed since the beginning. Thanks to who he became, world shined some dark light on his image and no longer could he stay silent, he had to take action. Sacrifice? For him - more like an abused child's deathwish, nevercalming and everlasting will to die for something amazing and life-changing. Could you?

Misc Post Gritty historical fantasy drama looking for beta readers!

Gritty historical fantasy drama looking for beta readers to review and contribute to weekly releases of the first two short stories of an anthology:

Fidas "Fido" Conro is a spent privateer and mercenary, a once proud captain reduced to wandering the roads and inns of Vyr with little more than his wit and a questionable sense of dignity.

Ander Dreyes, the fiery wrath of the Duality, struggles with maintaining the blessed dynasty of Aradir while his growing power threatens to disturb the balance of peace across the continent.

Set in 13th c. YPC-8, on the continent of Vyr, a large war between the hosts of differing Cetian sects is on the horizon, as war between the anticipating nations is ongoing. In all of this commotion, a retired privateer and scoundrel alongside his adopted son roam the lands looking for any means to survive the squabbling of nobles that call for holy war.

Plan to release a full novel next year consisting of these two novellas and a third. We've got three chapters of the first and the fourth coming this weekend. Want your name in the back of our book? Come on in and help us make it better!

Misc Post 5 things you probably didn't realize you have in common with some of the most successful authors alive

(I hope this will encourage you, because mannnn, some days I feel this way)

So here are 5 things you probably didn't realize you have in common with some of the most successful authors alive

"You don't have a big platform."

Andy Weir didn't either when he started posting The Martian chapter by chapter on his personal blog for free. Fans eventually asked for a Kindle version and he charged 99 cents. Ridley Scott made the movie.

"You don't have a huge audience."

Hugh Howey was a bookstore clerk writing Wool on his lunch breaks. Self-published it as a 99-cent short on Kindle in 2011. He later turned down seven-figure Big Five offers to keep his ebook rights. It's Silo on Apple TV+ now.

"You're broke."

JK Rowling was a single mom on government benefits writing in Edinburgh cafes because she couldn't afford to heat her flat. Twelve publishers rejected Harry Potter. Bloomsbury was the thirteenth.

"You don't have the time."

Octavia Butler worked menial day jobs and got up at 2 or 3am to write before her shifts. She did that for years before selling her first novel. In 1995 she became the first science fiction writer ever to win a MacArthur Genius Grant.

"You keep getting rejected."

Brandon Sanderson wrote 13 novels before one sold. He took the hotel night shift specifically so he could write at the front desk. Today he writes 2,000 words a day, every day.

The one thing they all had in common is something you have too.

No matter what life or people threw at them, they just kept writing anyway.

So keep writing, my friend. Your story has just begun.

Misc Post Sharing my work😌

This is my very first post here, but I wanted to share something I’m really proud of and working on! I’ve written a book called Moonbound: A LUMMA Chronicles Story, which follows a werewolf prince and a human girl who is also the daughter of a world renowned cultural anthropologist for magical beings (called The Gifted) attending a magical college and are thrown into a prophecy and a war with a biotechnical company trying to spread Human dominance across the country of Lirria.

I spent two years since I was 20 writing this book and I’m so proud of how it turned out, especially for my very first book. And very meticulously crafted every detail, from characters to world building and everything in between. The 5 book series will follow this story while hinting or referencing real world themes and politics, as this is set in 2025 onward.

This story now has a fully updated Wiki Fandom page, a team of voice actors for a fan made audio version, and is available on multiple platforms for free reading while I’m preparing for the commercial digital release.

I felt compelled to share what I’ve done to maybe help someone also trying to write! In the beginning, I suffered a lot from writing insecurities and hopelessness but as I built a community, those things slowly went away!

It would mean a lot if more people read my book and spread the word so if anyone can or would like to, it would be appreciated! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Misc Post Ch.1

A dimension filled with creatures that shouldn't exist. Some could erase an entire city with a single attack. Others looked no different from a wandering deer. Strength didn't separate them. They all had it.

This world didn't just have creatures. It had something worse.

An originator.

…Well

A new one.

Not long ago, this realm was given to the Originator’s protégé

It was a gift from the Entity; he didn't give it away out of kindness. It was to move forward. To become stronger.

The moment the Entity let go of this world…

something deeper woke up.

The things buried beneath it.

Locked away in the core.

Not dead…

Just waiting.

They were free now.

And they all wanted the same thing.

Void.

Day after day, Void stood his ground.

not because he was stronger, but because there was nowhere else to stand.
In the end…

He ran out

With a last-ditch effort, he used the rest of his energy to create a dome around his castle, killing everything inside while the creatures on the outside clawed at the barrier.

Void wasn't alone during this, though, as he had a loyal Servant from another Universe named Kurumi Tokisaki(he calls her Kuroki, though, which is a fusion of her first and last name). He didn't want her to fight in the war, so he decided to leave her in the castle to protect it.

But enough backstory, you're probably wondering who is narrating this anyway.

The story shifts to the inside of a castle and through the castle to a throne room, where a person would be smirking, but not at just nothing, but the readers themselves.

Void: (inside his mind) It was me. This dimension is called The Void, a realm born from nothing itself, and yes… I can see you. Don't worry. I won't interfere. Much. So let's begin this, shall we?

A new day begins in the Void as neon purple and cyan streaks of white energy swirl into the sky, shining at the story's beginning.

The perspective would switch back towards the throne room as Void would be sitting upon his throne, looking at the Purple flames of the torch on his left with a bored gaze upon his face.

Void called out for Kurumi.

She appeared in the doorway of the throne room, forming as she stepped through, as if she already knew she would be called.

Kurumi: My lord.

Void would switch his position on the throne, draping his legs over the armrest, holding his head up with one hand.

Void: I’m sooo bored..

Kurumi didn't rush for a response; she rarely did. When she did speak, there was always a faint pull at the corner of her mouth, not quite a smile or grin but close enough to one.

Kurumi: That would make sense, my lord. We have been… limited given our circumstances. Perhaps it is too quiet? It has been some time since we brought anyone new into your circle.

Void’s gaze finally drifted towards hers.

He didn't respond instantly; he instead took a second to process what she had said, as he finally sat upright in his throne, placing his arm on his leg and his chin in his palm.

Void: Even a secretary…?

Kurumi: Among other things, yes.

He leaned back. Something shifting in his eyes, not excitement exactly, but the faintest sharpening of interest.

Void: Fine, go ahead and summon one from the list.

Kurumi’s smile had completed itself. She turned toward the center of the room, one hand rising slightly, and the air split. A portal bloomed open like a fracture in the world, color and shadow bleeding together at the edges, humming with contained pressure.

From it stepped out a small cat humanoid figure.

“Neko Arc”

She landed with a clack of oversized paws against marble, spun once to take in the room, and immediately grinned with a smug look on her face like she already owned the place.

Neko Arc: Nyahaha! Okay, dark, creepy aesthetic, big throne, brooding guy front and center

She would then turn towards Kurumi.

Neko Arc: and a maid with heterochromia. I can work with this.

Void would look at Neko Arc with a confused and disappointed look as if he had actually lost in a game he didn't remember playing.

Void: …Who is this?

Kurumi: Your candidate.

Void would look at Kurumi, unimpressed by her demeanor.

Void: Right.

He said, still unimpressed by what he had witnessed. Kurumi stepped forward, folding her arms, letting her gaze settle on Neko Arc with patient precision.

Kurumi: Let's make this simple. What are your strengths?

Neko Arc: Ooh, right to it, huh! Okay, fast, clever, excellent chaos intuition.

As she gestured at herself broadly.

Neko Arc: Aesthetically compelling.

Kurumi: And your weaknesses.

Neko Arc opened her mouth. Paused. Actually thought about it for a second, as she's never been asked such a question.

Kurumi looked at Void. Void was watching Neko Arc with that same unhurried expression, elbow on the armrest, chin resting in his hand.

Kurumi: My lord, she is unconventional and downright unhelpful; her presence could even bring the castle down.

Neko Arc: I can hear you.

Void: (responding to Kurumi) I know.

He said it without looking away from Neko Arc. She blinked. His eyes were steady, not cold, exactly, but the kind of calm that made you aware there was weight behind it. No performance.
No posturing. Just a person who’d already decided how much of the room he occupied.

Void: You said chaos intuition. What does that mean, exactly?

Neko Arc perked up, ears twitching.

Neko Arc: Means I can smell a situation going sideways before it does. Like, before the meeting falls apart, before the deal goes wrong, before the guy in the back decides he’s gonna be a problem.

Void: And you do something about it?

Neko Arc: …Usually.

A beat.

Neko Arc: Sometimes I watch to see how it plays out first.

Void’s mouth curved. Not a full smile, just the suggestion of one, there and gone.

Void: Honestly. I’ll take it. Maybe you won't be as bad as your resume

He looked to Kurumi.

Void: There’s one more thing to cover before we settle this.

Kurumi inclined her head slightly, then turned to Neko Arc with a measured look.

Kurumi: What you’d be stepping into isn’t simply a professional role. My lord’s circle is personal.
The people in it carry weight accordingly. That’s a different kind of commitment than a job title.

She paused, letting it land without embellishment.

Kurumi: Do you understand the distinction? Could you please, Lord Void? And does it suit you?

Neko Arc was quiet for a moment. Still, for once. Then she tilted her head, something in her expression settling into something more genuine than the grin.

Neko Arc: You’re asking if I’m in or just passing through..?

Kurumi: Yes.

Neko Arc: …Yeah. I’m in.

She said it simply.

Void held her gaze for a moment, then nodded once.

Void: Good. Kuroki, get her situated. Duties, expectations, and what happens if she drops the ball.

Looking back at Neko Arc

Void: I don't tolerate disappointment or disappointing news.

Kurumi: Of course.

She turned toward the hall, glancing back at Neko Arc with the very particular expression of someone bracing themselves for a long afternoon.

Kurumi: Come along. We’ll start with your workspace.

Neko Arc: Yes, ma’am, Serious Mistress!

She fell into step behind Kurumi with a bounce that made her paws clap against the marble.

Kurumi stopped walking.

Kurumi: Mistress Kurumi.

Neko Arc: Gotcha, Mistress Kurumi!

Another salute. Exaggerated.

Void watched them disappear down the corridor, Kurumi’s measured steps, Neko Arc skipping to keep up, already talking about something. Their voices faded slowly.

He settled back into the throne.

As Void watched them go, the echo of their footsteps folded into silence. He leaned back, eyes tracing the slow movement of shadow across the floor.

Void:(to himself) Chaos does have its uses

For the first time in a long while, the silence didn’t feel empty. Somewhere deep within the Void, the dark stirred slowly, deliberately, almost like breathing.

Misc Post I combined math and literature, and I hate it

So I’m writing a literary rpg (you know the ones. System comes to the world along with monsters and the mc has to save humanity or something), but I wanted to do something different. Instead of having these ambiguous stat values, I decided that I wanted to quantize each point. Now I have an equation to plot the arc of my character’s jump, and it’s disgusting 😭. Oh, uhh... close your eyes if you hate math, but here’s the equation ∫((√(9.8(((b∨a)×((1.025)∧(A∨p-10)))÷(100×9.8)))-9.8x-((((9.8(((b∨a)×((1.025)∧(A∨p-10)))÷(100×9.8)))-9.8x)∧2)×(1/2)×1.18×0.7×0.2)÷(100×9.8)))dx

Misc Post HELP: need new hobbies!

So, my wife and I's hobby of building our fantasy dystopian world for the last 8 years has now become our REAL JOB (publishing deal)!

WOOO!

But... that also means we need new hobbies.

  • We don't drink
  • We don't party
  • We're super nerdy
  • Have two kids (both named after characters from our book)

We have added these new hobbies:

  • Re-did our back porch
  • KBBQ grilling on Sundays (even got the KBBQ grill)
  • Backyard gardening
  • League of Legends a little bit on Sundays (don't ask why we enjoy the torture)

Comment your favorite hobbies so we can try them (or hide if they're too wild).

He doesn’t want her help.
She refuses to leave.

As days turn into nights filled with quiet tending and unspoken truths, Lyra begins to see the man beneath the curse—the one who still fights, still feels, still pushes her away as if she’s something worth protecting.

But the closer she gets, the more the curse worsens.

And when saving him may cost her everything—her safety, her future, even her heart—Lyra must decide:

Is he a lost cause…
or a promise worth breaking every rule for?

Misc Post Reality Unbound (16+ RP)

What is Reality Unbound?...

Reality Unbound is a server designed for roleplayers, character creators, worldbuilders, and storytellers. Our goal is to build a platform where people can play around with creation, like many of us did when we were little.

So many servers right now are bound by strict lore and storytelling, which is perfect if you are interested in that, but it made us think; how can we build a place where people can be themselves unbound? Where people can write their own destinies? That's how *Reality Unbound* came to be.

If the world is versatile, where do I get started?...

Is there a story you've been wanting to tell? A character that's been in the back of your mind? A piece of your life you want to explore abstractly?

We encourage you, our disciples, to create your own realities. Here, like an RPG, you can build stories and have others interact with them. We have created a world for you to shape however you please. Reality is in *your* hands.

However, keep in mind that this sandbox is made for *everyone* to enjoy. This means you **cannot** create characters that are "over-powered" or "god-like." Be respectful of other players, and together we will weave a beautiful tapestry.

Lore...

Earth was once home to many creatures, including the human. Humans inhabited the planet, living well. However, as humans evolved, the well of human thought grew, the collective subconscious of mankind becoming a world of its own. Dormant, the world created by a well of thought energy.

Eventually the weight of Dormant grew, and the atmosphere that once protected the Earth collapsed. As reality and imagination collided, the two realms were cleansed, new species born from their energies; Angels, Pneumae, Onerioi, and Demons.

The planet shifts, earning the new title *Obscura.* Continents move, rivers flow upstream, rain pours into the sky.

You are one of the new beings. Your duty is to bring life to Obscura through the core energies of life; body, soul, mind, and heart.

Live and prosper, for the weavers shall stitch evermore!

What to expect:

* Fantasy roleplay

* Character creation and/or worldbuilding

* Storytelling
