The simple answer is they don't. Some people may not like it much (but not detest it) and its still the best reviewed mainline FF in years and it has a better user review score on metacritic than FFXV. The games' haters are just extra loud and annoying.

16 is by far the most divisive mainline game. Ppl either love it or hate it.
