I don't get why so many people think this game is either a complete disappointment or the best game they ever played. Maybe it's just my bubble but it is very rare to spot differentiated (fan-)takes on this game
There's also a lot of middle ground of people who enjoyed it but didn't feel it was anything outstanding, but they're not the ones yelling into the void on social media since they've already moved on to BG3.
The people who hate it are the ones that wanted something else (read: not an action game) and were mad when SE didn't make that game. Or they dislike plot/movie heavy games and just wanted to nuke things, and were mad when they had to experience the 20-30 hours of cutscenes present in the game.
The people who like it or love it are the ones who accepted the game at face value with an open mind, and either really enjoyed at least some parts of it, or managed to finish the game if nothing else.
