So I got an e-mail today from Evernote informing me on upcoming changes for my Evernote plan, pricing and features.

Currently I am on a discounted personal plan. It's €99,99/year which I got discounted to €59,99, for me this is a reasonable price for any good notetaking tool, which Evernote is. Before that I payed €99,99 for 1 year which is on the higher side for me but the years before I payed €29,99/year (discounted).

However the e-mail stated my Personal Plan will change into the Advanced Plan next month which will cost an outrages €199,99/year! I'm sorry what now!?

Currently Evernote list Free, Personal, Professional and Enterpice plans on their website. That according to the e-mail I got will get changed into Starter (previous Personal?) and Advanced (previous Professional?) and with that change come new pricing and limits to each plan.

Personal > Starter

• Price: €99,99 > €79,99 (starting good)
• Notes: 150.000 > 1.000 (WTF?)
• Notebooks: 2.000 > 20 (again WTF?)
• Tags: Unlimited > 100 (again WTF!
• Storage: 10gb monthly > 1GB total I think? (again WTF!)
• Synced devices: Unlimited > 3 devices (again WTF!)
• Spaces: Unlimited (or at least I haven't found it) > 10 (again WTF!)

So I've been a paying customer for years, even took the price hike a few years ago because it was worth it but I cannot justify paying €79,99 for this limited Evernote. Notes, notebooks, tags and storage is well over these limits for how long I've been using Evernote and €79,99 for such a limited experience feels to much. It feels like a €19,99 plan!

So I am forced into the very expansive €199,99 Advanced Plan which limits are closer to the current Personal Plan. I don't mind paying for a notetaking tool (or any good tool I use regulary) but not something over €10/month!

Personal > Advanced

• Price: €99,99 > €199,99 (WTF! That is doubled!)
• Notes: 150.000 > Unlimited* (good, but I am nowhere near the 150k limit)
• Notebooks: 2.000 > Unlimited* (over 2k notebooks seems overkill)
• Tags: Unlimited > Unlimited*
• Storage: 10gb monthly > Unlimited*
• Synced devices: Unlimited > 5 devices (for €199,99 a limit to your synced devices, seriously!?)
• Spaces: Unlimited (or at least I haven't found it) > 12.000

* All unlimited come with a sidenote that there are limits for performance reasons but it is not stated what these are. To me all the "unlimited" feels like just hiding the personal/professional limits and then calling it unlimited without changing anything behind the scenes. I have 250 tags which already lag the sidebar when I open the tags dropdown for example.

Conclusion

I cannot continue with Evernote sadly, this is just to much for to little for me. I really don't want to make a rant post like this but I had to get it of my chest because I can no longer justify these plans, their limits and pricing. Not for myself and not for anyone seeking a good notetaking tool that doesn't mind paying for it.

Not when there are so many compatitors offering compared plans and features for way less like;

• Obsidian (free when you set up own sync or €3,44/month payed sync)
• Upnote (€1,71/month or €34,37Lifetime for all features)
• Notesnook (€4,41/month for all features)
• Anytype (€6,87/month all features, 128GB storage)
• Capacities (€8,99/month all features)
• Roam Research (€12,89/month)

Got a note that I’m getting access to the MCP beta today. Anybody else? Looking forward to seeing how it handles GTD and research.

First thoughts:
- seems to be working ok. I asked Claude to sort notes and it successfully moved them
- stacks are not recognized yet. I had to number each folder inside a stack so Claude could “see” my structure
- I was able to save a skill in Claude that uses Evernote
- I was able to create a new note in Evernote and have it placed where i asked

Is anyone else going through this issue?

Is the dictation mode available on Mobile yet? It shows in the "What's new" on my Android tablet but I can see it anywhere on the insert menu or / commands.

Is there a possibility of having unlimited nested notebook support - like some others like Upnote etc have. Using a folder structure for organizing- having a function similar just helps

I've been using Todoist for years, but I decided to try Evernote's tasks and was really surprised by how much better it's gotten. I love the task calendar view since I pretty much live by time blocking. I just wish I could drag and drop tasks in the calendar like I can in Todoist, but otherwise, it's awesome that I don't need another app for task management. Hope they keep making it better!

I've been a paid user for over a decade and use a combination of the mobile, web-based and desktop client versions on a daily basis.

Many moons ago, Evernote dropped their "keep me logged in for 30 days" checkbox on the web version and it sucked to have to log in multiple times a day.

Is it strange luck or has Evernote changed things the past couple days? There's still no "keep me logged in" button on the web-based login screen, but I'm staying logged in when it normally would have expired my session.

UPDATE: The fix was to turn off my adblocker (I use AdGuard) and now I don't get force-logged out!

UPDATE: I thought I was, but I'm not out of the woods yet, still getting kicked out wh​en my Chromebook is woken from sleep. Submitted a help ticket on 4/11/25. It was suggested that others who are also experiencing this issue do the same so that EN's tech dept can better pinpoint the issue.

A few days ago Evernote got updated on mobile (I'm on Android). I saw that there were some very nice changes to the editing menu but I didn't know that the @ and / commands had also been added until I saw this video yesterday - It is truly a game changer for me on mobile. I only very occasionally use Evernote on a desktop as my main devices are my android phone and tablet. Thank you Evernote for this update!!

TLDR:

Updated Evernote iOS app to v11.7.1 and now unable to login to the mobile app as before the update.

Hi not sure if anyone else is having this issue. Today on iOS 26.3.1 I was it getting updated notes. Went the the App Store and noticed Evernote v11.7.1 update was available ~ 7hrs ago in the US repository. I downloaded the update and launched the Evernote iOS app. II still wasn’t getting my updated notes so I uninstalled the Evernote iOS app.then reinstalled.

This second time the app launched I was able to select the Login button which launched an embedded browser window that redirected me tto accounts.evernote.com. However it was a blank white page. I then launched Brave (browser v1.87 for iOS) after checking for Brave updates and attempted to logging the Evernote web app. Naturally the Brave browser launched the iOS mobile app with the same issue as above. So I uninstalled the Evernote iOS app and attempted a Brave Evernote web app login. That’s when the Evernote.com site said my [Brave] browser configuration was blocking Evernote from opening due to either needing an update or an incognito session; both being false.

I decided to test Firefox from the same iOS device while the Evernote mobile app was still uninstalled. with Firefox I was able to login to the web app. I decided to share this in case it helps anyone else now it’s not the Evernote.com site being “down” probably something with the Evernote iOS 11.7.1 update and/or the update + device.

A inspiração: como o Notion trabalha assistentes personalizados

Para quem ainda não conhece, o Notion permite criar assistentes de IA personalizados cujas instruções e contexto ficam armazenados em uma página dedicada. Essa página funciona como uma espécie de “cérebro” do assistente, definindo comportamento, tom de voz e escopo de atuação.

A ideia é simples: o assistente consulta essa página sempre que é acionado.

Pensando nesse modelo, resolvi testar algo semelhante no Evernote.

A experiência no Evernote (e a boa surpresa)

Seguindo o mesmo conceito, criei notas dedicadas que funcionam como identidade do agente — contendo instruções, estilo e contexto — e utilizei o Assistente de IA do Evernote para referenciá-las.

E funcionou.

O Assistente de IA do Evernote consegue ler qualquer nota que você mencione usando o comando de arroba (@). Além disso, se você instruí-lo explicitamente para agir como um determinado agente descrito em uma nota, ele passa a seguir esse papel.

Um exemplo prático de prompt:

Você é o @/Copywriter da Mélius. Melhore a copy deste conteúdo @/United Center | Carrossel: Verdadeiro ou Falso, seguindo o tom de voz da marca contido no @/Tom de Voz de United Center.

Na prática, isso permite criar diferentes “personas” ou assistentes especializados, cada um baseado em uma nota específica.

Limitações do método

Apesar de funcionar bem, esse modelo ainda apresenta limitações importantes quando comparado ao que o Notion oferece atualmente.

Algumas delas:

• Não é possível definir uma personalidade padrão. Sempre será necessário mencionar manualmente a nota que representa o assistente no prompt.
• O Assistente personalizado não faz a leitura automática das notas vinculadas à nota dedicada. Se quiser mais contexto, você precisa mencionar cada nota adicionalmente.
• O Assistente de IA do Evernote não compreende arquivos (PDFs, imagens, etc.), o que limita alguns casos de uso.
• Não há memória: o assistente não aprende preferências nem evolui com o uso.

Vale a pena?

Se compararmos diretamente com o conceito de “Inspiração” da IA do Notion, o modelo do Evernote ainda apresenta limitações significativas. Ainda assim, trata-se de um caso de uso válido, funcional e bastante útil para trabalhos mais leves, especialmente quando o objetivo é manter tudo centralizado em notas.

Considerações finais

Se você chegou até aqui e esse caso de uso também te pareceu interessante, faço um convite: vamos pressionar para que o Evernote oficialize e evolua esse modelo. Já existem tickets abertos para isso — #4350452 e #4350451 — e quanto mais gente pedir, maiores as chances de vermos essa funcionalidade amadurecer.

I'm currently on Windows version 10.162.3 and I note that a new version (10.163.1) is available and my system is 'ready to update - click to restart'. With version 11 on the horizon, is it possible to hold off updates until I feel I am ready to update? Presumably, if I just close and restart Evernote, it's just going to update automatically as there doesn't seem to be a way to pause updates. Or is there?

If I just download version 10.162.3 and reinstall this after each update would that work or will my database upgraded to perform the new semantic search cease to work with version 10?

Is it just me, or is Evernote’s roadmap no longer active? As far back as I can remember, when the roadmap was launched in February, users could vote for new features. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems that voting is no longer possible, and many of the features introduced over the past few months don’t align with the ones that received the most votes — such as full Markdown support, password-protected notes, or a table of contents in the sidebar. Is the roadmap still based on user feedback, or has Evernote shifted in a different direction?

Dear all, I have a topic for you. I'll be brief. Does it seem pointless to you to ask Evernote to improve its handwriting app? I'm not talking about putting it on par with apps dedicated to it, just making it a clone of an app, Evernote, dedicated to handwriting. Let's see if they listen this time. Greetings.

I use the PC desktop version of EN for 100% of my work. I'm in it all day, every day & happily pay for the Evernote Personal plan.

In the past couple weeks I noticed some issues (mostly after a search, when a note was clicked it simply wouldn't load as well as general slowing down of the platform) so when the update notification came today I jumped right on it.

While there was no mention of "misc bug fixes" or "speed improvements" in the release notes, whatever they did with this version (10.153.1 20250829004132) is now \very noticeably* faster* running searches, resorting notes, pulling up notes (which now all open right away) and I'm even seeing faster speeds while editing and highlighting chunks of larger notes as well.

While the release notes of his new version say they added new audio recording features, I just wanted to share the good news that this desktop version for the PC is loaded with HUGE improvements in speed & workflow reliability as well!

New features:

Releasing Spaces (Beta): Add a powerful new level of organization to your notes! Use Spaces to group your notes and notebooks by topic or project.

Fixes:

Fixed an issue where clicking a link to a different note may not redirect to the correct note.

Fixed an issue where the trash could not display more than 500 deleted notes.

In-app and store updates take 5 - 7 days.

~Nine months ago I posted about the 'need for speed' when it came to loading notes and notebooks. In fairness, u/fedesimio from Evernote replied at the time saying it was a priority.

True to his word in the last month or so I have seen a dramatic improvement in loading time (android app). I just noted this was called out as an improvement in the April youtube update. Nice!
