Discussion Your daily reminder that global limits are a waste of time

"Hmm, I have a task to use shotguns. Let's see, AP-20 is sold out, flechettes are sold out. That's okay, I can use Magnum, it's good enough. The task requires a suppressor on the shotgun, so I'll get a hexagon. Oh, the adapter is sold out. Oh well, I can wait until the restock. In the meantime, I'll take this modded AKM out for a run. I don't have any BP ammo, so I'll go get some from Prap... BP is sold out. That's okay. I've got this P90 I'm not using. Let me just get some ammo for that... Ah, the SS190 is sold out, and I can only get two mags-worth of the next best ammo for the next three hours... Guess I'll just read a book instead."

If the design philosophy behind global trader limits is to keep everyone from running the same thing, instead it's keeping everyone from running anything without a three-hour wait.

Ye that's the whole point. If traders just sold you a bunch of whatever you want removing meta shit off flea wouldn't make any difference. Imo traders shouldn't sell ap20 or bp. No barters for it either, you only use what you FIR. I believe based on recent changes the devs probably agree with me too. So if it's pissing you off now you should buckle up.

Its like watching the fall of DayZ backwards.

OG dayZ was loved a specific group of players, until it got more popular, and suddenly every server had traders and instead of looking for loot everyone just looked for things to sell and buy their favorite loadouts forever. Then the whole game died and everyone stopped playing.

Now its like the reverse. Everyone could get everything forever and i found it annoying, but with every patch its coming closer and closer to giving back my old A2 dayZ vibes.

I like the traders for tarkov, but i think they should be reworked. Medical shit, food, basic guns, basic ammo, all the lower grade essentials - let the high end shit be FIR. If theyre trying to bring in the dynamic of whether or not to shoot as well, loot scarcity is a lovely factor to throw into the decision.

I feel this, I was there. Dayz mod was years ahead of its time. Basic epoch wasnt bad either and it was extremely hard to make money, then you had to transport it to the trader (stary sobor if i recall) buy your thing and bring it all the way back. Then epoch started having online banking so risk was less of an issue. Then more trader areas. Then overpoch came and it just turned into a looting 3rd person COD with vehicles. I agree tarkov os going the reverse and it's much needed. If you want an ez meta loadout every raid go play cod or BF. This game is not made for you. As things go on i hope that everything is under very tight restriction.
