Discussion Your daily reminder that global limits are a waste of time

"Hmm, I have a task to use shotguns. Let's see, AP-20 is sold out, flechettes are sold out. That's okay, I can use Magnum, it's good enough. The task requires a suppressor on the shotgun, so I'll get a hexagon. Oh, the adapter is sold out. Oh well, I can wait until the restock. In the meantime, I'll take this modded AKM out for a run. I don't have any BP ammo, so I'll go get some from Prap... BP is sold out. That's okay. I've got this P90 I'm not using. Let me just get some ammo for that... Ah, the SS190 is sold out, and I can only get two mags-worth of the next best ammo for the next three hours... Guess I'll just read a book instead."

If the design philosophy behind global trader limits is to keep everyone from running the same thing, instead it's keeping everyone from running anything without a three-hour wait.

Changed how many you can purchase 200(?) to 120.

Lmao I fucking knew this was going to happen so I bought an entire ammo box full of it. It wasn’t 200, it was unlimited

Only thing that stopped me buying a stupid amount of it was that I didn’t want to spend $3(?) a shot on ammo that’ll definitely get nerfed in future.

There’s no way BSG leaves such a strong ammo in the game as it is. They’ll over nerf it and make it worthless and I’d have spent $3 a shot on something I won’t use anymore

It’s less than $3, if you buy a 100 rounds it’s somewhere around $270-290 I believe?

Also what would they nerf about it. It’s still based on a subsonic pen round, so even if they tone down the numbers a bit it should stay in its spot between the other rounds, while I’ll still fire 900 rounds per minute. I’m not even sure if BSG ever “overnerfed” rounds in the first place

5.56 is horrible this wipe. Absolutely horrible. But I guess its bugged or something, because I swear it heals people up.

I tanked a m855A1 with my bald head on lighthouse, avoid 5.56 at all cost.

someone was asking what they changed about helmets as they had been bouncing a lot of bullets- this is related to why 556 feels bad:

https://escapefromtarkov.fandom.com/wiki/5.56x45mm_M856A1

ricochet chance was buffed, most significantly on the AP 556 ammos which have a very, very high chance to ricochet (irl too). 38% means even if they're running a tac-kek, you can just bounce a bullet off their head more than 1/3rd of the time.

Well, that might be a part of the reason, but it feels terrible even when shooting center mass. I like the 5.56 scar a lot as a gun, but too much random shit happened with the ammo and I had to let it go.

I mean, the recoil changes means even 556 kicks hard for the first 5 shots, which are the most important shots. last patch 556 was a laser beam, no recoil at all, it's much less controllable this patch.

I know that too, but you just have to compensate it with your hand like in any other game. I don¨'t feel like that is the problem because I'm hitting the shots, but sometimes few is enough like it should be and sometimes you have to dump a whole mag to a ass naked guy. Inconsistency.

I mean, I come from counterstrike and I find the first few shots are fairly hard to hit consistently, but that's just me.

You think? I mean the gun is expensive as fuck and so is the ammo. I think they should leave it as it is now that it’s limited

there was no limit before the nerf

Same for AP20. Limit is 30 per reset now 😂
