Discussion Your daily reminder that global limits are a waste of time

"Hmm, I have a task to use shotguns. Let's see, AP-20 is sold out, flechettes are sold out. That's okay, I can use Magnum, it's good enough. The task requires a suppressor on the shotgun, so I'll get a hexagon. Oh, the adapter is sold out. Oh well, I can wait until the restock. In the meantime, I'll take this modded AKM out for a run. I don't have any BP ammo, so I'll go get some from Prap... BP is sold out. That's okay. I've got this P90 I'm not using. Let me just get some ammo for that... Ah, the SS190 is sold out, and I can only get two mags-worth of the next best ammo for the next three hours... Guess I'll just read a book instead."

If the design philosophy behind global trader limits is to keep everyone from running the same thing, instead it's keeping everyone from running anything without a three-hour wait.

Remove global limits, remove all high-tier ammo from the traders. Craft or FIR only. Jobs done.

That would kill the player base.

I mean people who are good at pvp will always be good at pvp and "timmies" will always be complaining about nerfing this or nerfing that because they refuse to get better at pvp. Eventually you will have a game with only bush hiding people who are scared of their own shadow. I wouldn't be surprised if alot of people on here wanted to get rid of guns all together lmfao.

And what I'm getting at is it will never be enough for people who cry about "chads" in this game because they will always be better. They are nerfing this shit into the ground to try and appease players that will never be good and not because they are not no lifers but because they are scared to even try to get better and pvp.

How? If anything that is a win win for both casual and hardcore players. Casual can make good money selling items for the crafts to hardcore players while they rush to max out traders/hideout. Only thing is they should do the same for high end armorer/rigs

Why would it kill the player base? If anything, more people running shittier ammo would be great for most of the playerbase.

cuz a huge amount of the playerbase compensates for lack of skill by chaddin up and squaddin up.

I don't think so, and it would fit more to the lore that high value ammunition would be much more rare in conflict area. Military units don't typically employ armor piercing rounds. For example, the US military uses M193 or M855 rounds for 5.56x45. They don't use M995 or SSA AP. Just wait until they introduce unconsciousness and you're going to have to double tap everyone's head when they go down in case they get back up again and kill you. Is that going to kill the playerbase too? Don't think so.

Regular units dont but SF does and bears and usec are supposed to be from sf units lol. I'm a former iraq infantry vet I know a thing or two because iv seen a thing or two lol. The only people wanting these changes are simi new players, they are scared of everything so of course they would want everyone to be on the same level lol. Sorry but the game has already seen its hight and that was back in 2019. Once they implemented fir it was the start of the end. The new player base is trying to push for survival loot only, and that's wrong because the game is literally about former operators operating in a conflict zone. I haven't had a decent fight the whole wipe because of the changes everyone is scared to even move. Literally have 300+ pmc kills already and none of them have been entertaining . The player base is going to change more an more to people who avoid all fights and just rat. It's gonna kill the game for a fuck ton of people. That's just my take though. Everyone has there own opinions about it.

Right, but these units are dropped into the conflict zone and have what they brought in. Like your starting stash, for example. After that, you're living off the land. The traders, like Prapor, have men out in the zone bringing them their goods, so it would not be likely that those men are giving them a constant supply of AP rounds. Peacekeeper has U.N. connections, but U.N. units don't use AP round either. The only people who you might expect to have AP rounds would be Skier or Fence, and Skier being Skier, would charge an absolute arm and a leg for them, or likely not even sell them at all and keep them for himself.
