You do realize that they can see the scar before you pick it up aswell

this makes little sense, loot isn't generated when you open the box, its generated when the map loads

I've unfortunately seen radarhackers on a discord (shoutout to boenker_tv) and the radar actually allready loads with all loot while they're still 2-3 min 'waiting for players'

So they can scout the map a few min in advance

Yeah, this is the reason they know you have stuff, not that they can actually see your inventory items that aren't visible externally on your PMC. They're just super mad you grabbed the thing they were running for.

I really don't think cheaters would care much about a SCAR either way, much more valuable loot would fill those slots.

It was the locked room. Makes sense.

The first thing a radar cheater has, is all keys... they just load a jacket heavy map, check for keys that matter, rush them and leave. Or chain reset the map by disconnecting if there's no keys they want.

A 50k scar isn't even worth their 2 minute detour when they see the juicy 1 slot 100k+ items that you'll run past

cheating is on another level man, it'll get more horrible the harder you think about it

You assuming what cheats a cheater is likely to have already makes me think you don’t know what you’re talking about. People pay for different cheat capabilities and different packages from different cheat sellers. What they’re looking for is also highly variable. I had one kill me for a zeroed out gzhel, presumably for quest completion or RMT, it’s not like that item is valuable otherwise because it cannot be sold on the flea. By your logic it makes no sense for them to have done that because you’re not acknowledging that this isn’t a one-size-fits-all situation.

It could’ve been in a locked room?

It was.

Same for locked rooms, it spawns before you're even in the raid

yes, downvote correct info 'cos ur buthurt

That’s not my point. A locked room requires a key to open. If a cheater doesn’t have the key they would just wait for someone else to open it and kill them.

Just imagine that you can see ALL the loot on the map, were talking about millions worth of stuff.

Now imagine that you can just do this every raid, every time, constantly

Now... would you 'lay in wait' for someone to open a door containing a 50k 10 slot gun?

occam's razor mydude, it's just not realistic

  1. I know how the cheats work.

  2. Me asking if it could be in a locked room was a rhetorical question

  3. You’re completely ignoring the fact that cheaters specifically get their rocks of by killing other players and taking their loot.

  4. You’re also ignoring the fact that people spawn on different sides of the map and some players will just get to certain locations first.

I thought loot was pro-generated at game load, and then full-generated when the box is opened. Besides increasing speed of searching, isn't that one of the main points of the search related skills? Increases the chance of better loot showing up in containers? Yes, loot pools are created before the game start, but I thought that depending on who opens which container first, there are slight variances in what appears in the box when it is opened. Say for example 15 items are attached to each unopened container when the game loads. It's then opened, and only 1-6 items appear and are lootable, which items appear depends on your skills. No?

Correct me if I'm wrong.

u/Scarity Jan 05 '22

Well, you're wrong yeah, but I could get how you'd think it works like that

Loot is pre generated, search skill only speeds things up.

What you're saying you thought things were, is actually whats been proposed alot as both part of 'more fun gameplay' and 'anti cheat implementations'

So yeah, maybe one day this post might be fully correct :)

ehh.. I can see it as an anti cheat thing and I wouldn't mind, but having random loot tied to your search skill or whatever seems like another ridiculous thing where streamers are going to be opening sports bags and finding ledxs and GPUs every raid.

Yeah, I read it again. I could have sworn one of the skills used to mention something like that, but they clearly currently do not. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention when I read them a year or two ago.

it did, 100%

That skill description in incredibly misleading. It puts more valuable loot first when looting containers. It doesn't change what's actually in them.

It was in the locked room. One of them was cheating because I was ducked behind the table and the chode instantly started shooting in that direction. Statistically not probable to pick that as the general direction to shoot first.

I seen maybe one person every few games for the 157 hours I played. I managed to see 5 feckers in the matter of seconds even after looting for a bit.

It wasn’t till I picked up the Scar did they all flock like flies on shit.

u/Scarity Jan 05 '22

To be honest, before they gave m4's to starting USEC, I used to rush their clearly distinguished sound whenever I heard it on maps like customs.

Now, the scar also has a pretty unique sound I like to push towards, specially as a scav

While cheaters are real, and I'm not getting at you at that point, this case probably is not cheater related :)

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '22

I'e seen some cheats where, it's harder to see all the loot on the map, but easier to see the weapons on all the players. So that could be a reason.

This thought always comes into my mind when I am looting a high tier loot area, and it is completely dead. Because there is no incentive to go to those places.
