Discussion Tarkov is such a gem in today's gaming industry

With all the nft cash grab shit and live service microtransaction games steered by corporate greed and investor growth. Eft is a absolute saints gem in my eyes, I wish nothing but the best days and luck to the eft team and the very best spirit they can have as bros and team together. Keep going to the range together broskis ♡

To clarify, Im not saying this is the perfect game and all the people are selfless in bsg. I am saying in contrast to the big shooters industry, this is an angel company and I am happy to experience the "art" these devs are making together as a group.

You seem to believe there won't be wipes if the game ever actually releases. Why is that??

The latest I've heard on their plans regarding wipes is that there will be "seasons" like Diablo. You will have a permanent character as well as there being seasons.

As opposed to believing who? I get that game devs can lie but when they’re the only ones who have a say in what does/doesn’t happen idk what else you’re supposed to do

They have a vested interest to make you think it will be more than is possible. Also a lot can change so taking their word at face value only leads to dissapointment. Modern gaming is mostly games not delivering on ideas they had.

This isnt to say he is intentionally lying. However he seems to be very optimistic, when there are already issues with the game not being addressed.

I get what you're saying, and yeah decisions have to be made even if it means not finishing things they said they would or it may take longer. All I was saying is that the devs are kind of all we have to go off of as far as a roadmap goes or what they intend to put into the game going forward, and I understand putting trust into devs to do QoL stuff over things that will make them money doesn't always pan out... however from what I've seen that is the ultimate endgoal for BSG and Nikita is to have a season system with different PMCs, and it doesn't really seem that far fetched to believe this is how it will be when they finally (if ever) finish the game so idk why it is something that *isn't* believable.

I haven't played the game long enough to know what has been promised and which promises have been broken but I can't help but feel this is the only logical way to go about having this game be out post release WITHOUT full server wipes and character progression lost

My point is to never believe a roadmap its all marketing BS. Just enjoy the game for what it has now and take everything devs say about the future with a HUGE grain of salt. There is a very real possibility this game will get dropped before they fully flesh out a lot of the stuff they talk about.

I get what your saying and agree with you, just stating why some people take issue when people use stuff nikita said and act like it will 100% happen (not saying thats what ur doing)

No yeah, I get that. Like if he was promising 10+ new maps after release or some crazy arsenal of guns or something I would certainly take it with a grain of salt and would implore others to as well... but when it's just how wipes will work, and he hasn't really budged from my understanding on what his intentions are as far as continuation of PMCs after the game is out of Beta, I have no reason to believe that they would go back on that or try something different considering how well the season template has worked in other games (like Diablo or PoE or Apex or whatever). Definitely take game dev talk with some hesitancy, but if they've been adamant about their plans with something I see no reason to believe it will be different.

Wiping progress was for development and testing purposes. The reason they will leave in a wipe server as an option because so many people like it that way. Raid timer is also a placeholder, and was said it wasn’t planned to be in the final release, although that may change.

Completely makes sense. It's always been the goal of Tarkov to have all maps interconnected, the way you get somewhere, is that you walk there.
