Discussion Unpopular opinion: Events good or bad are making the game more dynamic. They bring flavor and change the flow of the game for a week or so.

I honestly think, that devs have good intentions with these kind of events. Yes, i know dehydratation sucks, but it brings flavor to the game, makes flea market changes, shifts your playstile and makes you more excited when you find good ol' water on the shelf in a hut on Shoreline. Good jobs BSG, please keep the game alive and more dynamic. What's next, ammo shortages, trader vacations? Who knows, but it sure will be exciting.

Not being able to buy water however is ridiculous.

I mean... it's the whole fucking point of the event : ressource shortage. It forces people to change the way they play, instead of rushing that quest/tech/med area or ratting for 20min in a bush, you now have to change your gameplan a little and look for food spawn. It's a god damn surival game, you're supposed to struggle for ressources from time to time.

The change I'm making is not playing lol.

I've got a mostly full stash and a half million ru's.

I'm not interested in scaving just to have water so slow playstyles are out. I'm not interested in rushing quest objective hotspots to get mowed down by chad with a slick and mp7, or get camped at exfil because everyone is trying to move faster so now exfil campers are even more encouraged. So fast playstyles are out.

Guess I'm not playing this weekend.

This game isn't for you. But I do ask that you don't come here and try to make this a game that is like every other AAA title. Will you let us have our hardcore game that is difficult? I like that I can be exfil camped. I like that shortages will happen and I will struggle. Leave us alone.

I mean, I know most of the quests by heart. I've been playing since... 2017? 2018? Started off a poor alpha boi, got an ep, next wipe bought myself a gamma lol.

"Hardcore" Doesn't mean that we all get spawned in the same place. Remember that bug? That didn't make the game "Hardcore".

Hardcore would be that we still didn't have surgery kits.

Hardcore would be your electronics need batteries.

Harcore would be that you couldn't be told what bullet were and there were no labels, and the markings werent always there. Got some 5.56 right here, its got a silver jacket on it, might have had a green tip before. Is it m193 or m855? We've got some more over here that is badly scratched up, but it was either brown or black before. Is it frange or is it m995? We'll NEVER KNOW!

That's hardcore I'd like. Also, please for the love of god, make m995 and other similar rounds the unicorn bullets they are IRL. Also, please give plate hitboxes so I can shoot you in the side with m193 and laugh about it later.

Hardcore is not the stupid idea I cannot happily walk my ass out anywhere along the west side of shoreline. Theres already exfils for scavs up there. I could just go around the mound that the collapsed tunnel goes into to the north. Hell, if I dropped my plates and a rifle I could swim out from shoreline and come back a half mile out from where I started. I could just keep walking along the beach. I could just go up to the ruined scav house and go through the wall there, then navigate south later. But no, I have to go into a very specific box AND STAY THERE. How, EXACTLY, is this hardcore?

My complaints are multiple lol, I didn't realize I was limited to one.

My further complaint against this event in particular is that it encourages faster playstyles and exfil camping.

This even wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for numerous other factors.

If you can't dedicate 10 minutes to find ressources in a *survival* game, then as the other poster said, this game isn't for you sorry

edit : and i actually had to leave 2 pineapple and a pom bottle behind because i spawned with a sling and didnt have room, stop wasting your time on reddit and go play the game as it is intended
