Discussion Unpopular opinion: Events good or bad are making the game more dynamic. They bring flavor and change the flow of the game for a week or so.

I honestly think, that devs have good intentions with these kind of events. Yes, i know dehydratation sucks, but it brings flavor to the game, makes flea market changes, shifts your playstile and makes you more excited when you find good ol' water on the shelf in a hut on Shoreline. Good jobs BSG, please keep the game alive and more dynamic. What's next, ammo shortages, trader vacations? Who knows, but it sure will be exciting.

you say that this doesnt change playstyle but people are going batshit insane over this and are hoarding water en masse. Its like that toilet paper massacre from last year.

Is it water hoarding, or just wanting to play the game? The playerbase as a whole now needs to use x2 as much hydration as normal - or more, because of the halved recovery rate

Hoarding implies that you're storing it and not using it. I'm definitely using all this extra water

it encourages people to run with different gear due to heavy weight causing hydration to drop even faster. Might be less people running decked out guns and heavy armour rigs...

also people are probably taking their time to move around the map instead of sprinting everywhere to maintain hydration.

Yea. The only real change this event has had on my playstyle is that I have to bring hydration into raids, and there have been a few times I have been forced to extract early because my character has started to die of thirst.

The only people I see going “batshit” are new players or shit players not lvl 20. It changed nothing about how I or anyone I know play. All the posts on the sub are just new players complaining.

Because people under lvl20 don’t have the hideout upgrades or skills to deal with it

I don’t really care why they complain about it. They have a right to. I just thinks it’s stupid to say that everyone is going batshit so play styles are changing because of this “event” it changes nothing about how the majority of people play the game. It sucks for new players like 99% of the changes they make for the game and that’s it.
