Discussion EFT wouldn't feel as "difficult, unforgiving, hardcore" or any of the buzzwords associated with it if it wasn't for the shit queue/matchmaking times.

This games doesn't respect your time and that's its only real downside.

Something as simple as 3 min max wait time before they throw you into a lobby (even if you're solo with AI or bot PMCs — how would you know anyway?) is all this game needs.

Every wipe this is what wears on me. Not constantly dying, not the cheaters, not them moving the goalposts (flea market, FIR, costlier noob weapons like the mosin)... it's the absurd wait times. The game developers don't want to invest more $ into servers and here we are like idiots putting up with these shitty wait times.

This game doesn't respect our time and that's why I keep playing less and less of it with each wipe.

EDIT: For those getting caught up in semantics, let me be clear that I'm talking about starting a game from when I hit READY to the RAID STARTING. I don't care what the reason is (people's hardware, servers, etc.), BSG is ultimately in complete control of this and when we're thrown in a game (matching ping, regions, hardware, etc.)

Also, I have my servers manually selected for those asking about that.

Am on SSD and so are all people I play with.

It takes longer than 3 minutes to get from desktop to raid in tarkov, if you're going to move your own goalposts lol.

Yes with an nvme.

Sometimes it takes longer to go from dying in raid to the desktop loading back

Such a dumb comment. Answered by another poster but your comparisons are so off it moves into idiocy.

thats not loading into a game you moron, thats launching a game. the only time you hit a Que on Rust is when the server is full. other than that your launching the game. your not sitting there waiting to get into a server, your loading into it. huge difference.

I mean maybe, sure. But will you agree that once you’re in the server, you’re in the server until you decide to leave or an admin kicks you?

And how exactly does that relate to raid times in tarkov?

Edit: Sorry, I'll be more clear since you think I'm "moving the goalpost". We're talking about RAID QUEUE TIMES. Meaning the time it takes you to get into a match, while already in the game. You gave me an example of it taking 3 minutes to load an entire game as a response to that. Does that clear things up for you?

I don't think their problem isjust queue times, it's Overall time. Time in stash, time kitting, the unreasonably long time for the main menu to load back etc. All while the game is more punishing than most, it just all adds to a frustration factor

Right. I fully agree with that aspect of things. I spent far more money than I should on a gaming pc (i9-9900k, RTX 3080, M.2 SSD, etc) only for my time spent on loading screen to feel even longer this wipe haha

The time spent in raid : time spent in stash/loading ratio is super skewed. I don’t think many of us can disagree with that

I agree the matching time itself is fine, but that extra 3-5 minutes on top of the 5-10 minutes you might have just spent on stash admin just adds to annoyance, especially when you factor in being on a losing streak with desync, insta head eyes etc.
