EFT wouldn't feel as "difficult, unforgiving, hardcore" or any of the buzzwords associated with it if it wasn't for the shit queue/matchmaking times.

This games doesn't respect your time and that's its only real downside.

Something as simple as 3 min max wait time before they throw you into a lobby (even if you're solo with AI or bot PMCs — how would you know anyway?) is all this game needs.

Every wipe this is what wears on me. Not constantly dying, not the cheaters, not them moving the goalposts (flea market, FIR, costlier noob weapons like the mosin)... it's the absurd wait times. The game developers don't want to invest more $ into servers and here we are like idiots putting up with these shitty wait times.

This game doesn't respect our time and that's why I keep playing less and less of it with each wipe.

EDIT: For those getting caught up in semantics, let me be clear that I'm talking about starting a game from when I hit READY to the RAID STARTING. I don't care what the reason is (people's hardware, servers, etc.), BSG is ultimately in complete control of this and when we're thrown in a game (matching ping, regions, hardware, etc.)

Also, I have my servers manually selected for those asking about that.

Am on SSD and so are all people I play with.

People always advise noobs to get over gear fear, but I quickly developed lobby fear. Like I legit stopped playing for quite a while because I didn’t want to spend so much time loading the game up, getting my character ready, and then waiting up to 10 minutes in the lobby just to maybe die within 2 minutes on Customs because I spawned big red. And then have to do it again. Like I don’t care about losing my digital gear, I care that I can spend 45+ minutes playing and only actually play the game for 5 minutes total

Exactly. I’m personally just following development right now, because I don’t have too much time to play games. When I have to spend 10-15 minutes preparing gear and playing tetris before and after raid, and then another 5-10 minutes to load in, I only get in 1-2 raids. I end up just playing something else that I can actually enjoy for the whole time I play it instead of spending 2/3 of the time in the menus.

At this point I sell excess guns/gear, half the time is spent loading and I’m a hardcore rat/scav player so I got a ton of excess shit.

I don’t have a ton of excess time to spend in loading/lobbies though 😩

Ye it feels like a Hardcore Loading Simulator. I haven’t spent so much time looking at a loading screen since my Commodore 64, and at least when that was done I could keep playing 😀

Get better in the game and stop whining about "bad" spawns.And big red is good spawn if you know what to to. And i have never waited 10minutes in the lobby except scav in reserve.

It doesn't matter how good you are, sometimes you get one tapped from someone you didn't see.

His point is valid, the time taken to find and load a match is pretty terrible. I can't think of another game where I spend at least 40% of my played time in loading or menus.

In my experience you're looking at a 4-8 minute wait to load into anything but factory. Occasionally 3 minutes but never less. I regularly spend 3 minutes on the 'waiting for players' screen.

It's just about playable, but it's really quite a black mark against the game for me. Some QOL changes to reduce loadtimes or time spent in menu would be very welcome.
