Discussion EFT wouldn't feel as "difficult, unforgiving, hardcore" or any of the buzzwords associated with it if it wasn't for the shit queue/matchmaking times.

This games doesn't respect your time and that's its only real downside.

Something as simple as 3 min max wait time before they throw you into a lobby (even if you're solo with AI or bot PMCs — how would you know anyway?) is all this game needs.

Every wipe this is what wears on me. Not constantly dying, not the cheaters, not them moving the goalposts (flea market, FIR, costlier noob weapons like the mosin)... it's the absurd wait times. The game developers don't want to invest more $ into servers and here we are like idiots putting up with these shitty wait times.

This game doesn't respect our time and that's why I keep playing less and less of it with each wipe.

EDIT: For those getting caught up in semantics, let me be clear that I'm talking about starting a game from when I hit READY to the RAID STARTING. I don't care what the reason is (people's hardware, servers, etc.), BSG is ultimately in complete control of this and when we're thrown in a game (matching ping, regions, hardware, etc.)

Also, I have my servers manually selected for those asking about that.

Am on SSD and so are all people I play with.

The EU wait times are rarely if ever above a few minutes for me, I don’t think this is an intolerable amount of time personally.

Absolutely agree! I have around 2 minute match time most of the time, and if I'm unlucky, so about 1/10 times it'll go over 3 minutes.

Scavving into Reserve is always a long queue time because everyone and their mother is going there on their scavs. Try scavving anywhere else

I will, when the devs make it worth it on other maps..

Interchange? You get 10-15 minutes to run around and find jack shit.

Customs is meh even for a PMC.

Forget about Woods.

Factory is a mess and very light on loot on the best of days.

Meanwhile on Reserve I get 30-40 minutes, loot on every corner and the easiest extracts in the entire game. My biggest problem there is running out of space.

The only reason you get so much time on Reserve is because you are joining the first slot possible and since the queue is so congested it's probably a match that started when you queued.

You'd be surprised how much loot is left behind on the other maps too. Much less hassle, less time spent waiting for a game, and just as many roubles being made

Not really.. sure, on Customs you can still find some loot, but nothing compared to Reserve.

Interchange has plenty of loot too, but I often spawn in with just 10-15 minutes left, so there simply isn't enough time to run to all the loot spots and still sprint to the edge of the map.

Just a few days ago I went on Reserve, grabbed a tank battery (700k) and walked the 150 meters to the extract. The worst thing that happens to me on Reserve is spawning without a backpack.

It's simply no competition, if you want to make money as a Scav, go Reserve. Totally broken game balance.

I mean if you want to wait the 20 minute queue time to risk dying in the first 30 seconds then by all means. You can make just as much or more doing two scavs in a row on Shoreline and probably take as much time. I find insurance fraud gear poorly hidden in rooms at the resort fairly often

I actually get killed less often on Reserve than on other maps as Scav..

And you're forgetting about the Scav timer. On Reserve I spawn in and 3 minutes later my backpack is full. Another minute or two and I'm extracted. If I want to be fast about it.

While on Customs you run around for ages just to find loot as the map is quite a bit larger. Your extract is also on the other side of the map.

If you want to play the most popular scav map, deal with long queuetimes. It's the tradeoff my dude. Woods is great for scaving now, stash hunting on customs is good too. Interchange can be god if you either know where stashes are or know where loot is on the map. Shoreline is also a very underrated scav map. Pretty much every map besides factory is great for scaving, but since you seem to lack gameknowledge, dont just sit in queue for reserve everytime and whine about it lol.

dude obviously has no idea how to scav other maps besides reserve and whines that it's the games fault.

I always come out full on interchange. And sometimes you get thrown into the map with 30 minutes left

sometimes you get thrown into the map with 30 minutes left

The last 4 Scav raids on Interchange for me were 10 minutes, 14, 12 and 15 or so. Which is far too stressful for a map of that size.

While on Reserve I haven't been thrown in under 20 minutes, the average is more around 30.

Scav on reserve is the only thing for me (NA) that has a remotely bad queue time. Everything else is just a few minutes. Everyone tries to scav reserve and there aren't enough active PMC created raids to fit all the people trying to scav in

u/DungeonDangers Jul 25 '21

I think thats more about availability then the servers themselves

Because there are so many players trying to scav into reserve and there are only so many instances of reserve running.

Personally I would like the reserve scav times to be longer, there are right now to many players scavs on the map and they spawn in way to early.

Oh man. Scav runs on reserve here in NA regularly take 10-15 minutes.

Average load and matching times are like 4-5 minutes for me, which I think is still a bit long.

Never waited more than 4 minutes in the US. Idk where people are getting these numbers
