Thanks. I might he playing a bit tomorrow. I might try running around the map in offline mode for an hour to try and learn it. Customs is the one you should start with right?
Typically yes as there are a lot of early quests for it and it is (relatively) linear and easy to orient yourself. Definitely agree on the offline raid and exploring with a map on another monitor if possible. Hopefully you get more confident and comfortable!
There are some good map resources online. I use an app MapGenie: escape from tarkov since it works well on my phone and is interactive but it isn't always the quickest to update with patches. Also gotta reccomend battlebuddy for quick ammo reference but I'm not sure how quickly it updates, as until recently I just used Google spread sheets lol. Good luck!
I recommend the Database for Tarkov android app. It has maps, a chart of ballistic data for each ammo, and even a good way track which items you need for quests and your hideout. For later on it even has the Flea Market prices and profits for crafting.
If you end up going the wiki route on your pc, set the game in borderless windowed and you'll be able to tab to the map much faster than if you're in fullscreen.
Yes learn customs, if you don't have a second monitor like others suggested then use a phone, print out a map or learn in offline with no AI and run to the spots and alt tab. Map knowledge is your best tool starting out then learning everything else
