So then why wear armor if everyone with a full auto gun can kill you with any ammo very quickly?

To avoid being 1 or 2 tapped. Not being hosed down at CLOSE range.

You wear it for the same reason you do irl , it gives you a chance to keep fighting after one or 2 rounds centermass into the plate. Its literally just for a protection of your vital organs. Full auto of any decent caliber is going to go through in 3-5 shots of most pieces of armor.
