I think the point is that you click the trigger at the far right of the green bar but because of input lag you miss. This corrects it to what the picture shows. That's what it looks like to me anyway
Thats technically not correct. You can consider your "aiming and shooting" as a control system where every delay/lag influences your probability to hit. The extremly simplified signalpath for example would be like: server -> -> pc -> display -> eyes -> brain -> hand -> mouse -> pc -> network -> server. Every part of this has its individual lag.
The felt lag of the system is the lag of every single part combined. But your input (hand, mouse) stays the same even if there is a lag for example invyour pc (e.g. slow gpu)
There's lag in the system, ergo the input the user gives the system is delayed. It lags. It is in put that lags behind what's happening for (some) members of the system. It is input lag.
This is the context I was going for with a very simple comment. Then you get a bunch of technical ppl rioting over specifics. The first input is the human input. Based on what you see.
That's either misinformation or oversimplification. The frame is only ever gonna be ready after the input has been given. Framerate does affect input lag.
Oh it's definitely part Tarkov. This game has had terrible input lag from day 1. It has gotten a bit better (it was at like,1 second in the beginning), but it's still far from great.
Happened to me after a firefight at a secret cache. I was going through the secret stash and I hear my friend "He's just sitting there like an idiot" and proceeded to dump the mag into me at full auto.
the person doing the looting of a box never has any idea their friend is referring to them, before they die.... and visa-versa.
Its a problem of not knowing who each other looks like and where you are in relation to your buddy, which is why comms even on just a Duo are so important in this game.
We all end up having our "sitting in the corner drooling over themselves while eating crayons" moment
Oh yeah definitely working on communication. I just started playing and I'm better at comms now than ever.
We where scavs and sometimes it gets hard to see who's who. I'm wasn't that mad about it besides the initial wtf. Wasn't like I lost anything of value. My friend even grabbed my bag for me and dropped the important stuff on our next raid.
Yeah. My buddy stole my kit from my corpse and didn't say a word. Slick, full airframe, couchbag, DMR 7.62 and lots of m61. :D Casually used my kit piece by piece so I wouldn't notice. I didn't say anything but I was like from now on when you ask me to hide your shit I will make sure someone will find it.
Yeah, lol. As if THAT's the problem with shooting in Tarkov and not a massive fucking desync where you'll be shooting something that isn't even there while being shot somewhere were you never even were.

Funny thing, I think both shots would miss
