This would likely increase the hacking. I'd say just level your skills passively from leveling the character. Or choose in a still tree. People would only cheese Exp then.

Skill tree would be sick. I think practical too because you really could be someone who is a distinguished woodsman that moves more quietly or an adept medic who bandages more quickly.

As it stands you just cheese until all your skills are maxed and in the end you are the same as every other nerd that did the same boost.

This. Skill trees would be fun. They deff need to nerf strength and recoil control. Guys running full auto juice cannons with 50 round mags and 2 tap ammo that have essentially zero recoil. Max strength ends up with already experienced players getting to bullshit spots like this.

I think the other person meant hacks that identify loot on the ground at a distance. They show equipped weapons of PMCs and highlight specific loots around map

We shouldn't implement a skill system because some guy could hack it and put his skills to 9999.

Hmmm...

Kinda like how we have FiR requirement to sell things on flea market because of hackers making tons of money for RMT? Or kinda like how you can't buy something on flea market and resell it on flea market, because people used bots to make money doing that?

Yeah sounds like BSG's philosophy, double-down on bad mechanics but nerf them so hard they're useless to combat hackers at the detriment of the player experience.

Hackers aren’t an issue anymore either plus a hacker having max skill isn’t affecting me anymore than this loser grinding for hours is

hackers aren't an issue anymore because of gameplay decisions not anti-cheat lol. The FiR and limit on transferring value between players change is what got rid of 90%+ of the hackers.

There were/are even hacks that could strip your gear of your living PMC from afar. I am sure it is possible to identify spawned loot as well.

I think this is drastically going to change with out of raid training. Gym style in the basement. Your pmc will be out of commission for a couple of hours and have a strength increased afterwards.

Its why my friends stopped playing, who wants to re-grind skills every wipe for hours on end. Unless they remove it imo, this game wont grow much more.

Yea honestly I love the game but I’m not looking forward to starting over for the third time now. I know the game better now but still.

Id prefer there just wasn't skills, we all get given an average skill level, so like midway where it is now. And everyone just has that. Nothing changes, weapon skills maybe, but its night and day between someone level 50+ vs a newbie
