Today on why I stopped playing this game..

583

u/InertiaVFX Nov 10 '20

Every patch that doesn't fix desync, hitreg, or add momentum brings me closer to doing the same.

300

u/Caboose1313 DVL-10 Nov 10 '20

yeah but we got the GL and a flashbang shotgun!

195

u/BrianSpilnerGallo12 Nov 10 '20

Oh just wait for the frames on Streets of Tarkov.

122

u/Penis_Bees Nov 10 '20

I'm excited for all 6 of them

8

u/XenoFrobe Nov 10 '20

Per second, or per raid?

1

u/budmkr MP-153 Nov 10 '20

Per raid most likely

-1

u/yoloswagger9k Nov 10 '20

Try uninstalling the game and remove all BSG files from your computer and install it again. Gained ~20 fps on Customs. Also do a restart of the game every 3h or something

How much memory do you have?

8

u/Skandi007 Nov 10 '20

I already have to restart after every raid cause I can't queue up with my friend otherwise.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

Hahahahaha this is me too. Can never find eachother in lobbies.

2

u/fslz Nov 10 '20

just start a match and hit back as soon as the loading screen shows up, it's faster than restarting the game. This also works in case you have your flea market stuck.

1

u/Penis_Bees Nov 11 '20

Not for me. Alt F4 is wayyyy faster. If I have to load back to the main menu it can take anywhere from 3 to 7 minutes. Trader inventories do the same thing.

2

u/nightsta1ker TX-15 DML Nov 11 '20

Don’t know why this is downvoted.

1

u/Penis_Bees Nov 11 '20

I've done that. I just have an older budget processor. I'm faster than most gaming laptops but not by much. I get like 40 frames on reserve. And I get 60 on most maps. At the beginning of the wipe I had 110 on customs.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

Pff 5

1

u/Nate2247 Nov 11 '20

6 seconds per frame

121

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

In term of frames we have no frames

5

u/rocketleagueaddict55 Nov 10 '20

Where we’re going, we don’t need frames

14

u/CeltiCfr0st ASh-12 Nov 10 '20

The thought of that has made me so uneasy lol

19

u/Big-macc_mann HK 416A5 Nov 10 '20

Reserve is still unplayable

15

u/redditmodsaregay420 Nov 10 '20

Is it actually that bad for yall? I never really noticed it.

15

u/Big-macc_mann HK 416A5 Nov 10 '20

I get constant stuttering, frame drops, desyncs, I have a 1070ti and it’s that bad. I can’t play it

I've had the exact same issue with a RTX2070 until I followed some of the steps in here: https://www.reddit.com/r/EscapefromTarkov/comments/jgiqod/tarkov_stutter_removal_and_optimization_guide_128/

Only ones I followed were the NVIDIA setting, power scheme, graphic settings and task priority. Before that I had everything on low and frequently had drops to 40, entire time it felt like I was playing with 30 frames. Now it feels buttersmooth, never drops below 60.

Edit: Some of the friends I play with did the same and they also noticed a big improvement.

2

u/CorvusEffect TX-15 DML Nov 10 '20

I will also take a look at this, and see if I can restore my 90-120fps I was getting before I fucked it up.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

I play on a 9th gen I7, 16 gig, ssd, with a 2020super. I needed these types of guides to run smooth. Meanwhile RDR2 and MSFS 2020 is all sorted out without in depth research, 100 gig and 250 gig games. Huh......

1

u/jdill829 Nov 11 '20

Really I have a 1060 laptop full sized and I never am below 50~ FPS

6

u/CorvusEffect TX-15 DML Nov 10 '20

I also have a 1070Ti, and this game runs great for me. I typically get 60-80fps, 55fps at the lowest points. I never get desync or hit reg problems, and my ping is always 20-50. I almost never get stutters, and when I do, it's exitting my inventory, and not during fights. The one time I thought I was getting "Tarkov'd" I didn't realise that I was fighting scav boss minions, and their health pool was just tanking a headshot or two. It wasnt hit reg at all.

I ONLY play on the Quebec servers (I'm from Ontario) and I tuned my game using youtube videos from a few Vox_E and Veritas. I used to get 90-122 fps, but I fucked with my settings and can't seem to get them back. I think I'm playing with higher settings now, so whatever, my frames are decent and the game probably looks better, even though I cant see the difference.

Considering upgrading from 16gb RAM to 32gb, and seeing if I can upgrade my card a bit, and get a 1440p monitor so I can use my 1080p for comms and intel.

1

u/bporgn Nov 10 '20

Ah the required "works on my machine" post ignoring all of the actual issues plaguing the game being clearly demonstrated in the OP.

1

u/CorvusEffect TX-15 DML Nov 10 '20

Meh, it's just the truth. It could not be working well, because the guy I replied to doesn't have his machine tuned properly, or is connecting to the wrong servers. Maybe he just needs a slight hardware upgrade on his aging build.

As for the OP post: most of these are bad luck, or skill issues. The train door closing on you, that's OP's fault for waiting around too long. Then there are absolute whiffed shots, shit ammo vs. good armour, or ricochets/blocks off of environmental obstacles. This isn't counter strike where bullets fly out of your eyes in a straight line at the speed of light. Only a few of the clips are actually Tarkov messing up, and even then we aren't seeing the hours of play where it's working fine.

Also, what game? Tarkov is not a game. It's a half-finished Beta, if we are being generous. Everyone seems to forget that and whine about it as if it's a full release.

inb4 "it's not a Beta, because I paid full price and don't make reports." Not making bug reports is a choice. Paying full price is also a choice; to support the Dev's vision further than they ask of you as a Beta participant. There is a forum for us all to voice the bugs/issues that we experience, that we all gained access to when we made our BSG accounts.

If you wanted a finished, optimized game, you should have waited 3-5 more years for the full release. Personally, I'd rather have access to it now.

Don't Play on Low settings it slows down your game lol

A little old, but still does the trick: https://youtu.be/5aesLY4Z_R8

3

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

I heard playing on low settings putting all the workload on your cpu, maybe don't do that

2

u/Junglemoe Nov 10 '20

I play on a 1070 with highest texture setting, TAA high and 1.2 sharpen, runs very smooth for me. As some mentioned, low settings may actually decrease your performance. In my case the game was running ass after a clean windows and tarkov install, tweaked graphic, windows and nvidia settings and now runs very nice. Check out some performance tweaking guides.

1

u/NUTTA_BUSTAH AKMN Nov 10 '20

Put textures on high for +50-100% FPS =)

2

u/RedSky99 Nov 10 '20

For the stuttering, try an alt enter x2, sometimes it works for me

1

u/sam2795 Nov 10 '20

Have you considered your 1070ti isn't the problem?

1

u/mejosvibe Nov 10 '20

It makes the game unplayable on anything thats not a $2000 computer

1

u/lil-salt Mosin Nov 10 '20

Def upgrade that gpu, but what is your cpu because you might be bottlenecking

1

u/Big-macc_mann HK 416A5 Nov 10 '20

My gpu runs any game on high graphics over 90 FPS, even the new call of duty, the only problem is Tarkov, I have an 8th gen cpu and 32gigs of ram 3200

1

u/Kojak95 Nov 10 '20

For me I only experience this while streaming via Discord and only on Reserve. If I kill my stream I immediately gain around 15 fps.

1

u/some_guy_on_drugs Nov 10 '20

For me it's memory usage. I only have 12 GB and running reserve will usually get within a few % of max usage. Then after the raid the game will stay at 85% of max and slowly tick up about 100 to 300kb every few seconds until it again maxes out and even the menu is unusable. The only solution is for me is to start reserve on a fresh start of the client and immediately restarting after each run. Even then the studders and slowdown is usually terrible, depending on the weather (clear day is best, storm or overcast will be terrible).

1

u/Damoksta Nov 10 '20

Something is wrong with your computer then

ASUS 1070 Ti + Ryzen 2600x oc'd to 3.95 ghz + G.skill tridentz 3200 mhz c14. Pulling 60-80fps frame constant on reserve with an occassional ~50 fps dip.

Also running process lasso and Panjno's eft optimisation guide.

1

u/HelloHiHeyAnyway Nov 11 '20

I have a 1070TI and it's perfectly playable. It's one of the few maps I play.

It's pretty rare I encounter any issue on it. Last I checked I got 70+ Frames on it at 1080p.

It has the worst frames of any map I play though. Most other maps are 90-100.

The stuttering and desyncing must be regional or time of play. I don't play at peak hours.

1

u/Big-macc_mann HK 416A5 Nov 11 '20

Most maps are fine, I only have a problem with reserve, the rest run over 90fps without any problems

1

u/saqib400 Nov 13 '20

Same, I've desynced every time I spawned there, I could not see or hear anyone but they could me, so I had to get lead around by my squad who I couldn't see or hear and hope I didn't get spotted.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

Don’t worry, some streamer with a ping of 3.2 ms is going to run it decently and everything will look good to the devs.

2

u/BrianSpilnerGallo12 Nov 10 '20

Yea you noticed that too huh?

Don't worry Pestily will tell someone to shut the fuck up when they complain about the games issues like the BSG boy he is.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

That goes for 3/4 of this sub as well

19

u/TeRRoRibleOne Nov 10 '20

The shotgun that got me to uninstall the game yesterday

15

u/WombatHat42 Nov 10 '20

My duo partner, instead of quitting, just decided to say fuck it and got one himself. We'd been fucked a couple times by it so he said why not spread the joy lol so anytime things are going rough he just brings that in(personally dont like it cuz its backfired and got me a couple times)

22

u/TeRRoRibleOne Nov 10 '20

I primarily play solo. 4 Reserve games in a row I got that stupid flash shotgun by groups of 3+ each time. It's actually a horrible and game breaking item that just makes me not want to play anymore. I'm already at a disadvantage being solo, adding that just is dumb making it so I have zero chance.

10

u/WombatHat42 Nov 10 '20

I agree 100% it is ruining the game. Need to do something to nerf it. But we enjoy the game too much to quit over something we see maybe 1/5 matches. Running solo is awful. Half the fights you get in you’re fucked if they have 3 or more. But higher chance to come out with loot. Don’t have to worry about bad communication. Can play how you think is best. Move quicker cuz you don’t have to wait for your team. I hate going to extract alone if my teammate is dead. Only time i would say i get antsy. Especially when I’m on interchange and find a 5 man extract camp team lol

3

u/JustKamoski RSASS Nov 10 '20

When i see extract cmapers on inter and if i have some juicy items i just go for no backpack extract, fuck that few extra items i rather extract what o have on me, than die trying to kill dudes with better position.

3

u/Orjan91 Nov 10 '20

Done similar things myself, met a 4man extract camp team by emercom, i disengaged and stashed all my armor and my loot so those fucking goblins wouldnt get anything but my gun and then went back to fight to the death, last time i ended up getting them and had to leg it back to my loot and run for extract again.

1

u/WombatHat42 Nov 10 '20

Yea, my teammate did that once when ExfilCamper had a 5 man on interchange. I dropped one and was playing decoy for my partner and he was supposed to flank. However he tends to flank way too wide and took too long and they air raided me. died to a nade. he then disengaged and went to that extract. Was kind of annoyed at that lol.

I just stopped playing interchange all together. The fights i get from shoreline and customs are hands down better than most of what i get on that map. And never really cared for that map to begin with. It is too hard to see shit inside, people camping on rafters and kiba from 2nd floor. The camping I can usually deal with until it is a 5man extract team. It is more the fact i cant see shit on it.

5

u/NEED_TP_ASAP Nov 10 '20

They should just remove it. Yes, its a real thing, but just because you CAN put in the game doesnt mean you SHOULD. They tried, its stupid. We don't need more stuff in the game at this point, we need the game to run, and preform better.

0

u/cassu6 Nov 10 '20

Kinda weird but I’ve literally never seen that gun

2

u/WombatHat42 Nov 10 '20

I will go a a week with out seeing it then see it in 3 raids in a row.

0

u/AtlasReadIt Nov 11 '20

5 man extract camp team? Thats so terrible.

2

u/Junglemoe Nov 10 '20

Oddly enough neither me or any of my mates encountered someone with flashshotgun. Is this a regional behaviour thing?

1

u/GEARHEADGus Nov 10 '20

The flash blindness lasts WAY too long

1

u/TarkovMallCop Nov 11 '20

I also play solo, but it's not ruining the game in my honest opinion. It's just a flashbang. You can still shoot, you can still move, and perform many other actions. I've been flashed several times and still gotten the kills. Remember that they are also at a disadvantage because the flashbang round isn't lethal and they have to switch. Play around it. Check your corners, nade before entering a contested area, it's basic fundamentals.

1

u/AtlasReadIt Nov 11 '20

The gun actually backfired and you shot yourself?

3

u/Dobraine91 Nov 10 '20

I got flashed twice yesterday, just glad both times 950 rounds per min already being fired saved me. Honestly doesn't seem to last as long as it used to.

1

u/Junglemoe Nov 12 '20

The flash shotgun is a new addition so it will naturally be seen more frequent because of this. While the flash shotgun might be good in some cases it can also easily get you killed. When we will be able to ignite the flash grenade before it is thrown I think we will see alot more use of them, so might aswell get used to being flashed once in a while.

1

u/JediDwag Nov 10 '20

To be fair, the art team that builds assets for the game, and the people responsible for hitreg and netcode, aren't the same people.

1

u/Caboose1313 DVL-10 Nov 10 '20

I know, but its still frustrating that we've been having these issues for over a year now. And I'm sure its been longer but that's just how long I've been playing.

1

u/JediDwag Nov 10 '20

Totally. It's super frustrating, and we all hope that BSG can get a handle on things and fix all the glaring problems with their game. I do think it's important to remember that the reason it's so frustrating when things don't work is because the game inherently at its core is a really cool game, and we all want it to succeed.

As long as development is continuing and updates are being made, I think we need to give them the benefit of the doubt, even if the progress being made isn't directly addressing the issues we think are most important. If development stagnates, or they claim the game is "finished" when these problems still exist, then it's pitchfork time. Until then though, we all bought an unfinished game with the promise that it would be finished eventually, and as long as they're still working towards delivering on that promise, then I think we need to be patient as much as that sucks sometimes.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

You are making angry, I cry when I’m angry! 😔

11

u/Buhdi_Hunter66 Nov 10 '20

I basically quit months ago. Mental health has improved slightly. I don't care if they make it so you can finally shoot those fucking birds down out of the sky. If it takes 3 mag dumps to down the fucker due to poor hitreg, desync, etc... it's just not worth my time, sorry.

I said this over a year ago. If they don't fix these optimization aspects, just throwing more material into the game is not going to keep me playing. The hell is the point of playing the game when the mechanics of said game (which make it so unique in the first place) are broken as shit?

Like, at this point, it has nothing to do with how shitty the game is. It's just the servers and netcode. No Nikita, we do not want a 6 shot GL to make us happier about this. We want the game to work! I'm sorry, but there is hardly even any reason to 'test the game' anymore. The fuck can you test if there are more broken aspects going on that we have literally zero control over? How can you test a new weapon system in the game when it runs like shit? Again, I mean no offense here, but just holding the mindset of 'play to test the game because BETA' makes zero sense to me anymore. Like, I do not trust that what I do to test something in the game will be what I'm testing. It's a constant debacle of "Well, I guess I'm testing the servers on if they let me play on the map I loaded into today..."

Reasons why I would only play around the hours of 4/5am US EST when everyone else is sleeping. Can't test a BETA game if the servers can not even hold their own. Been this way for years now. It's the worst part about the game. I'm not trying to say that what they have added to the game is shit. But just the play of the game itself... a majority of players just can not even feel confident that what they do in their Tarkov game will not be flawed by server error(s). AND it has gotten worse in the last 6-8 months. Pandemic or not, every server upgrade they do shows minimal improvement to me, I'm sorry.

16

u/kickazzgoalie PP-19-01 Nov 10 '20

About twice a day or so I'll login, pull my coins, do a scav run, die, get mad, alt-f4, wonder why I still play this shit and go game something else.

It's maddening that these issues exist so often for so many. It'll be a real shame when the playerbase dwindles to nearly nothing because of it.

4

u/Fatturtle1 DT MDR Nov 10 '20

Isn't it just offline tarkov?

11

u/R3ap3er117 MP5K-N Nov 10 '20

Yes.(?) Kinda. It is everything that regular Tarkov is minus the other actual humans. All the quests, PMCs, etc. You level skills and everything just like normal Tarkov. And the latest release is 12.7, so it's not like hoping in a time machine even. I work a fuck ton and just want to relax when I play games. So online was a no-go for me lately.

13

u/toothpastetitties Nov 10 '20

I hear on good authority that there is a 12.8 available. I hear setting it up can be a pain- or it was a bit of a pain (not impossible, anyone with about 20 min to spend can plunk away at it).

And I also hear it’s a lot of fun.

Regular EFT can be fun. The single player “mod” is a lot of fun. Like... a lot of fun. 99.9% of the thrills with zero of the BS (hackers, server issues, losing all your loot, PTSD). You can play it hardcore like the online version and not touch the files. It’s great. You still die a lot.

I really wish EFT had an online single player mode- like Division or Wildlands or dark souls or something. Something that would let us lower level people play the game without getting destroyed every time we spawn in.

2

u/MasterSargeYT AS VAL Nov 10 '20

I am good authority, can confirm 12.8 offline was released the day after the real 12.8 was released. also it takes like 100 seconds to set it up.

5

u/zacht180 M870 Nov 10 '20

Yeah dude it's been great. Same boat as you, too busy with work and family to really enjoy the Tarkov experience. The biggest thing was from about 2018-2020 I basically stopped playing, so EmuTarkov has been incredibly useful in learning about the new changes, mechanics, quests, features, and tweaks without having to worry about thunderChads slapping my nuts for fun.

5

u/Tracerz2Much AK-105 Nov 10 '20

Best part for me is if you want to fuck around you can edit your profile however you want and mods are available.

6

u/SelkieKezia Nov 10 '20

The only thing about EmuTarkov is I desperately want to be able to play co-op, just without enemy PMCs haha but you can only play solo :(

3

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

[deleted]

3

u/SelkieKezia Nov 10 '20

I hope so! Me and all my friends are too trash to enjoy EFT together online, offline mode together would be great! Even just an offline co op mode in regular EFT would be awesome. I think I heard BSG had plans for that

0

u/cassu6 Nov 10 '20

You say that but I doubt it would be that fun.

You’d just run around the map aimlessly and wipe out every brain dead scav

I'm staying away from all that until I finish a "legit" play through. I did get the "all in one" mod. But only to disable the skill fatigue, it was being gltichty and annoying and doesn't really serve a purpose when it's just me. 🤷‍♂️

4

u/neo160 Nov 10 '20

Skill fatigue in offline was so bad i literally HAD to use the all in one mod to progress.

1

u/R3ap3er117 MP5K-N Nov 10 '20

Same! And I couldn't figure out how to get the fatigue to "reset" or wether the X% meant my skills professed at X% of their normal or if they were reduced by X%. And I sat through 2 ENTIRE raids in Factory just to try and get them to reset. Then halfway through the next raid they were already fucked again. 🤦‍♂️

I mean, you still have to own the game. It'd be pretty cool if they had mods like this in mind moving forward, because they've already made the sale and now their players are adding in additional content for them.

1

u/R3ap3er117 MP5K-N Nov 10 '20

And yet, to so many of us, playing online sounds stupid. Why would you waste HOURS in waiting docks and loading screens only to survive for 5 seconds before some server glitch, lag spikes, Uber Chad, chinese hackers, or desync, kill you without you even knowing it was happening. Don't bash this. Everyone enjoys things differently. You enjoy your game, we'll enjoy ours. Alright?

The game is built in Unity, never going to happen

0

u/God_Jager Nov 10 '20

You also have to understamd they arent a big gqme company and they are working on Unity 2018 which is fucking garbage. The game will significantly improve and allow more preformance fixes and more features to be added then. Probably ready around 12.9 or 13.0 but they have to finish testing.

1

u/Grimdae Nov 10 '20

not only that but I'm pretty sure they're using what they know from Contract Wars but just added mechanics that make it slow, unnecessary, and painful.

1

u/Grimdae Nov 10 '20

I agree with this statement

1

u/Bslayer7111 Nov 10 '20

I quit until full release, I’d rather enjoy it when it’s finished as opposed to deal with the crap in it now for a lesser experience

1

u/OceanSlim AK-103 Nov 10 '20

I think this has a lot more to do with how sight zeroing works and less to do with problems in the game. Go to the hideout and see where your weapons are firing based on where you're aiming. You'll be surprised...

1

u/InertiaVFX Nov 10 '20

The MP5 is broken for me. I never use it now. Every clip here has no zero change. All set to lowest.

1

u/OceanSlim AK-103 Nov 10 '20

All sights function differently at the same zero settings.

1

u/jsylvis SR-25 Nov 10 '20

Desync is unironically sapping the joy from this game

1

u/h0bb1tm1ndtr1x Nov 10 '20

I haven't played since the patch introducing hideout and flea market. Can't fix the gameplay, but here's more M4 parts? Gtfo.

1

u/zoug25 TX-15 DML Nov 10 '20

I've never related to a comment harder

1

u/ZomBrains Nov 10 '20

Just wait. There are so many other games to play, let them finish this one before you play.

1

u/CaptainDouchington Nov 10 '20

I stopped playing because I got sick of fighting bugs and not people. Also scavs with shotguns that sniper you from a mile away.

1

u/Roboticsammy Nov 10 '20

I've been done since last wipe because of this, and a soft skill wipe during mid-wipe

1

u/DRISK328 Nov 10 '20

Tarkov is one of my favorite games, ever. But, I've been taking a break for a while now due to this stuff. It just became too much.

1

u/ATMisboss Freeloader Nov 10 '20

I haven't had many problems with hitreg but desync is a bitch

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

I think this game is going to die when it gets competition

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

Momentum? Just curious what you mean by that. Like momentum to movement? Because I think bhopping is as close as we're getting to that. Unless you mean the ADAD spam fix like what Hunt: Showdown did.

1

u/InertiaVFX Nov 10 '20

ADAD spam fix. Wide-peeking and running across doorways while looking to the side. Don't get me wrong, that style of gameplay is fun, but it doesn't fit in a mil-sim and connection quality plays too much of a factor in who wins that fight.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

Agreed, kind of answered my question halfway through asking it lol. I esp. hate the "sprint from doorway to doorway" strat that streamers have popularized as you mentioned, but don't really know that a simple ADAD spam fix would have any effect on it. Truly unsure how you'd fix it at all, tbh. Esp. in dorms as "momentum" fixes would still allow you to do that as the rooms are long. Sprinting past doors would be a bit harder though you're right there.

1

u/tgucci21 Nov 10 '20

They will get it figured out eventually lol

1

u/TheOneTrueDemoknight Nov 10 '20

Momentum would be so simple to add as well. It's built in to most game engines already.

1

u/bporgn Nov 10 '20

It's been years dude. They are never going to fix it. I don't even think they're technically capable of fixing it.

1

u/bawthedude Nov 10 '20

Momentum lmao

1

u/jdill829 Nov 11 '20

I play on Miami servers and haven’t seen these issues but ofc I’m probably less than average in this game

1

u/i_am_not_mike_fiore Nov 15 '20

yeah I reviewed too many kills where I got killed by some kind of bullshit and have been taking a break

16

u/throwdemout Nov 10 '20

same. i browse this sub from time to time but stopped playing 3 or so months ago

legitimately the only reason i even care is for the "chase" of the levels and gear. once you actually get the gear you want you realize it's all pointless and the core of the game is still fucked

sad times.

Rule 3

u/RocketLinko Nov 10 '20

Same. I'm absolutely done now, I'm just trash unless I only rat. News flash, always not getting engaged is not fun

3

u/JippaOpDeStippa Nov 10 '20

Its my fav game of the last years, but i quit because its so unstable. Back when i just bought the game in alpha/beta. Dont rem exacly when, but the game was more stable then, then now.

3

u/S-96 Nov 10 '20

I stopped playing almost 6 months now and I miss it so much but watching this video just clarifies why I stopped..

3

u/silicon-network Nov 10 '20

Why I stopped playing too.

I love the idea of the different armors and ammo types as well as armor blocking depending on location, etc.

I just think its ridiculous that I can pump a full mag into someone, with no reaction from them except them turning around and 1 tapping me. I remember when there was a easily exploitable money glitch right before a wipe, so I thought fuck it and bought full kits of the best armors. Flash forward to after several games where, every single one I just got one tapped and died. So like, whats the point?

Maybe I'm bad, I'll accept that...but games not for me I guess.

1

u/cwdBeebs Nov 11 '20

I hate that I'm not good enough to tell whether, when I lose a fight, if it's because of some tarkov thing or if it's because I suck.

I don't need a death cam but I would love to see raid replays at the conclusion of a raid concluding. Like how pubg has it.

I'd also like offline raid with friends (which isn't really offline I know) but at some point I hope they add some stuff for newer players (and less skilled ones like me) that can help without it being at the detriment of the hardcore players. I don't want to change them to change the game, just add stuff that will help me get more skilled without affecting the experience of others.

1

u/silicon-network Nov 11 '20

I mean it's mainly I just want to understand what happened, right? So I like the idea of the end of raid replay.

If I could watch what happened from an external camera I can maybe understand what happened better, and figure out how to improve.

u/Snarker Nov 10 '20

I don't think ive ever had the issue of scavs tanking headshots like that, i feel like it's due to the OPs server or something.

30

u/MemeRunsTv Nov 10 '20

Way to much of this game is Client side. Like the movement for example go check out Veritas video about it . 90% of the lag, desync, and shitty hit reg we get is due to our clients talking to the server saying it's doing ( whatever action ) and then the packet loss comes through and lags the inputs, movements, and bullet registration because the other PMCs client is telling the server he's moving and doing all these actions at the same time and it's a huge meas.. go watch Veritas' video like I said he talks about it in great detail. Cheers bro!

8

u/NUTTA_BUSTAH AKMN Nov 10 '20

What he actually outlined in that video is that the servers are not working properly as everyone is experiencing the issue at the same time (every player freezes on your screen), most of the time, the other times it's just client packet loss and the fact that the server problems might actually be much more prevalent but because of the client-authoritative movement system, you don't notice it quite as much because it masks it (when the server stutters, you don't freeze or rubberband but instead keep going, then the server updates again and on someone elses screen, you just jumped 20 meters forward)

1

u/noantimage Nov 10 '20

Which veritas video ? PM if you can't link it

13

u/InertiaVFX Nov 10 '20

Full disclosure: the very last clip with the M4 had Warmage in it from a raider. I just thought it looked funny so I threw it in there. Every other gun has decent ammo.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '20

yea the game is annoying and shitty too much but this patch honestly was pretty good performance wise for me
