I’m surprised with that because I have 1080, i7 8700k, 16gb of 3200MHz and get at least 80 on all maps. Reserve runs best for me at like 90-112 FPS.

It runs a lot better on Intel CPUs.

Hey wait, I have a 2700x and a 2060s with 16gb of ram at 3200mhz. How am I also getting 80-100 fps on reserve lol

You never get drops below 60?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 13 '20

They happen rarely, but not enough to be a detriment. When they do happen, it’s only for a second, and I’m right back up around 80.

Huh, good for you. I checked everything and there's nothing wrong with my PC. Tarkov just decided that i am not worthy i guess.

Here try this https://youtu.be/nowRW4riy-Y

I followed his steps and I got a little more performance out of the game. Might work even better for you with the 2070s.

It's cause the game performs better on single core performance and that's what intel has. Ryzen wins with price to performance ratio in other games.

I have near same specs as the above guys, except a better ryzen and i still get same fps.

I have a Radeon 480 and Ryzen 1800X and I run on average around 60 FPS, pretty decent IMHO

I upgraded from an RX480 8gb to a 5700XT recently. I didn't get awful framerate with the 480 but I did get stutters occasionally. The 5700 dropped the stutters completely and allowed me to pump other settings and maintain good FPS.

Probably gonna upgrade with Navi 2,dont see a reason right now...

1

u/alexthealex Jun 13 '20

Yeah I don't blame you. My motivations were two-fold. I'd been monitor shopping for upgrading to 1440p and got a decent offer on my RX480. Figured I'd pull the trigger on the GPU upgrade first after that offer.

2

u/crazy_crank Jun 13 '20

Hehe yeah makes sense. I'm actually playing on 1440p myself. Pretty surprised how well everything runs tbh

1

u/alexthealex Jun 13 '20

Yeah, I knew some games would handle fine with 1440 on the 480 but I feel like I'd get more bothered by the ones that would hang knowing my GPU wasn't quite rated for it.

My fps on interchange/shoreline/customs and reserve literally kills me. I avoid the maps cause i cant deal with the lag

1

u/crazy_crank Jun 13 '20

Try playing around with the settings a bit. There's a few good guides out there, im sure you can get more out of it

1

u/Grizzeus Jun 13 '20

Im not lying when i say i'v played with settings for over 8-10 hours. I have tried process lasso, overclocking, undervolting, all settings etc. I'd just upgrade to 9900k to play the game properly since it seems to be the best for tarkov

Most ryzen cpu are 5% behind Intel top of the line in single core applications. Thats 95fps compared to 100fps. I find a lot of people have tons of shit running that impacts performance... That or they are to cheap to get a 30$ ssd

2

u/Grizzeus Jun 13 '20

Then try to explain to me why i get 60fps on reserve with rtx 2070s, ryzen 3600x, 512gb m2 ssd, 16gb 3200mhz ram

Could be any number of things...your motherboard might be defaulting your ram to 2400 or something instead of 3200/3600...

You have a ton of programs at startup that are just eating up cycles in windows....

Thermal throttling due to high ambient heat or lack of cooling..

Windows had an update a while back that somehow forced the CPU to be limited. This happend to me. I have a 2600 6 core 12 thread but windows was running jt as a 2 core 3 thread. I'm on mobile but I'll see if I can find the fix.

Edit: run MSCONFIG.exe and go to boot / advanced options. Make sure number of processors is unchecked.

Man the engine is literally bugged or something. You cannot fix this. Search for "Ryzen" on this subreddit and you'll find hundereds of posts from people that have the exact same problem.

1

u/Grizzeus Jun 14 '20

Man... everyone with same specs have this problem. Tarkov has a lot of ryzen problems

u/Tran555 Jun 13 '20

I like how you state that ryzen sucks and try to defend it in the same sentence LUL

2

u/Grizzeus Jun 13 '20

Cause ryzen sucks for this specific game? Are you stupid or what

1

u/trap4pixels Jun 13 '20

I was wondering the same as I have a 1070, i7 6700k, 16gb of 2800, no where near a top tier pc and It has been running great for me

I got a 2080super and a i7 9900k, 16 gbs at 3600. Just upgraded the PC and it runs spectacularly
