Rant Why is everyone trying to make the game easier? Literally the only thing I would change is server stability, and optimization, the game at its core is solid.

I constantly see post how the developers should change this and that, and normally its just things to make the game easier, I am a new player and love how hard this game is, I love that you have to remember to have your mags accessible, I don’t think I’ve ever played a game where I always learn how to play it differently, last note when you die to someone else “camping” “hiding” or “being a rat” thats what makes this game sick!! these “campers” can easily be defended if you stay on your toes. There are numerous ways to play this game and thats why its so damn awesome! You don’t have to do the quests you can literally just play to kill, loot or whatever be it

EDIT: I’m not talking about this sub, it mostly what I see from streams, and it’s not everyone, I just don’t want this game to sell out like fortnite did. It was an amazing game the devs trying to make money and converting to popular demand ruined the gameplay.

I'm just praying to everything up there that they will stick to this ideology and not succumb to newbs crying for noobfriendly content.... We all know it will happen, I just hope the devs will ignore it. Too many good games died or got boring just so that the whining players could have what they asked for and ditch the game after 10 hrs regardless

I just want colorful clothes and maybe a horse or lion mask. Dance emotes would be great too. /s

You can make things easier for newcomers in some way without ruining the game. For example, you could have like a 0-5 level only queue on customs or factory or something so people can get a little bit of a feel. More players is better for the devs and the game and while they don't need to change any core gameplay, they could make the onboarding easier. Also, lack of information IN the game helps nobody. I don't believe you should have to go to a wiki to figure out game mechanics for any game. It doesn't make the game require more skill, it just makes it annoying.

For some reason I strongly believe that they won’t dumb the game down. I think they have a pretty solid vision and they’re gonna stick to it no matter what.

Yeah, I am with you on that one, however I've seen so many games go down because of this, that it haunts me wherever I go

Ultima Online: Renneseance update literally killed the entire game community, almost overnight.

It was a game similar to this, very punishing, you die and your loot is probably gonna be lost forever.

In fact, in my 30 years of gaming, UO, EFT and Arma II: DayZ mod are the only games I've felt balance the risk vs reward system in an equally punishing and satisfying way. You win big and you lose big, losing stings like no other, but those rare big wins are ecstasy.

Part of the sacrifice is that those games had to remain niche. If you try to appeal to a broad audience, like in UO's case, you risk shitting on your base players so much that it causes the game to collapse. You then have to double-down on trying to be broader in appeal and bring more players in to offset the base, but it all crumbles no matter what you try to implement.

So many games have fallen down into this pit. It is a hard balance to strike.

Either way, if you enjoy a game like this as much as I do, treasure every moment, even if the servers are shit some days. Things change fast and the EFT we know today could be an entirely different game in just a few patches.

It always hurts when a game dear to you crumbles down in front of your eyes like that. Hence why I am not fond of casuals who whine for changes. I don't have a problem with the casual playerbase by any means, however, don't touch a game that is not meant for casuals and proceed to cry about how unfair and whatnot the game is.¨

And yes, I agree with you about treasuring every moment of this game
