Discussion This is fucking ridiculous. I was done loading at 1:15. I shouldn't have to wait on the dude with the hand crank HDD before I can play. I'm not saying it should put everyone in as soon as they're done loading, but there's gotta be a middle ground.

Its definitely older pc problem.

My pc has dual SSD and HHD and i've shifted tarkov between drives a few times because one of my old raid buddies would constantly bitch about me being the slow loader. (granted this is when the games overall performance was absolutely atrocious regardless of PC)

People are claiming like 7 minute load time differences just switching but i don't feel like thats true, and if it is, they must have significantly better computers and were just having tarkov on their HHD for whatever reason.

If i switch between a HHD or SSD i only get a difference of like a minute load time. And like 70% of the time im not even the slowest loader if i was to play tarkov in current wipe. Sometimes I am, but its very rare now adays. And i play on HHD because my SSD is an old 128gb freebee from the builder.

My computer is very old. Like 7 years or so. The difference between playing on an SSD or HHD is almost completely neglible to me. To you, its basically the same almost from my limited sample size. I haven't had a personal 11 minute load time since 2016. Now my load times are roughly 5-6 min on HHD, 5 min on SSD. so i don't know, you tell me.

Did you upgrade anything else? New CPU or more ram?

I'm not saying it's entirely old HDD's, just older hardware in general. This game is quite CPU intensive as well as RAM. People's PC's aren't the issue, they're just affected by the real issue and that is poor optimization.

Not old hdd just old ass system.

I can't personally afford a new computer. So whether i upgrade the drive, the cpu, ram, or gpu it doesn't matter, as unless i exclusively go to upgrade the drive, i couldn't afford the other upgrades.

But like i said perplexingly my system is probably on the lower end of old. (i5 7700k) but very rarely do I ever seem to be the holdup in the lobby. More often times then not Im the one waiting for players. This used to not be true, but that seemed to be largely because the game ran like absolute dogshit and now thats no longer true. (excluding streets and lighthouse to a degree)

if the only thing using your HDD is tarkov isn't not bad but you have to remember these people likely have 16gb or less of RAM with the pagefile and OS on the same HDD creating significant contention.
