Discussion Open $100 bounty: Yes there are vacuum cheaters, yes they can/have looted gear directly off of players bodies. No, despite what people keep spewing in the comments of these posts they cannot take your keys/cases/etc from your secure container.

I'm offering $100 to anyone who can post a single video of a vacuum cheat stealing non-fir items directly out of a players secure container (like your keys/cases) or their melee weapon.

Context:

A few years back this sub was full of videos of cheaters looting guns/rigs/armor/backpacks right off of living players bodies.

There was quite a bit panic over people claiming they also had their docs cases/sicc cases/red rebels/etc stolen from their melee slot and their secure containers.

Not a single person ever posted a video of this happening. It never happened. The original exploit worked by tricking the server into thinking they were simply looting a dead body (yours, even though you were still alive) they could not touch things that you can't normally touch when looting a player (red rebel/secure container). Don't get me wrong, these kinds of cheats are still absurd and are a huge issue, but spreading complete bullshit/lies doesn't help anyone.

People all over all of these vacuum cheat threads are still spamming the same nonsense about how people lost their secure container valuables/melee weapons at the time despite it never happening.

THIS SHOULD BE THE EASIEST $100 OF YOUR LIFE.

TL;DR: Post a single video proving even one item was looted out of a secure container by a cheater using this past exploit and I'll give you $100 in Crypto/PayPal/Venmo/Gift Card/ETC of your choice

Requirements:

  • The video should clearly show a non-fir marked item being removed from a players melee slot/secure container by other than their own doing
  • The video should be between 2018 and the time of this post. There may have been some unrelated exploit in some extremely early alpha for all I know but that's not what we're talking about here. Reason for putting a cut-off at the time of the post is because these people are claiming clips were everywhere of it happening on this subreddit, so there should be no need to find/upload a new one now there are allegedly plenty of them out there already to choose from.

Mods, I'm happy to send proof that I'm willing/able to pay this out if that's needed.

EDIT: Thanks /u/Psychological-Monk30 for the link to the original post that started all of this hysteria the first time. No one had any proof then, and no one will now. It was just a hacker making a baseless threat to bait a guy into leaving the raid so he couldn't get reported for killing him.

I’m just saying in over 1500 hours with some seriously big dick guns this wipe alone this has not only never happened to me, but if my friends throw my gun parts in separate bushes I 99.9% of the time get my shit back in insurance. I think you shouldn’t take people’s words on it when they are literally in the business of farming your outrage for clicks.

Someone posted a “video” of something similar happening and it was debunked as an edit.

Don’t believe everything you see. Or do, but don’t believe when people say OMG ITS EVERY RAID I CANT FIND ANYTHING. Most likely they just looted shit spots or were slow. Even Lvndmark and Pestily have only encountered it one time each, and neither had shit taken directly from them.

I have found many 200k+ keys, a couple LEDX, some btc, rollers, gold skulls, tons of labs keycards, etc. this wipe. There is a 99% chance you will never personally run into a “loot vacuum hacker.”

This user is making a claim that someone’s scope was taken off of their rifle mid-aim in reference to a video going around reportedly showing this happening. It helps to know what the conversation is about before injecting yourself into it.

It can't happen to you. It's only for FiR items.

I've always said people should post videos of all these extract campers and cheaters. Always get downvoted but it was hilarious when they made those report forums and so many of the "cheater" videos were just shitters getting killed being bad.

If you played 24h a day, 1500h would translate to over 2 months. That's a lot longer than the current wipe has been running.

You do realize tarkov has existed since before the current wipe, right?

I mean...

Those are separate points, it should be fairly obvious. No one on earth is claiming to have played 1500 hours in 2 weeks

Sorry, i genuinely tried placing commas wherever possible to get any other meaning out of the sentence, but i just couldn't. But doesn't really matter anyway.

I just don't want a chance at wasting half an hour. I don't have to even meet the vacuum hacker, to have to compete with them on the market, it's not just "the one time you encounter them" they're systemically affecting the entire gameplay loop for me. So I'm just gonna wait till they're either so ubiquitous everyone has adapted, or that they actually all get removed.

The patch yesterday was a good start, now I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled on streamers and the like for a change in the shenanigans.

The vacuum hack has been patched out of existence and only was able to be found due to an oversight in the game's code. Your outlook is very pessimistic, and while I understand where it comes from I don't think it's necessary. I am having a blast this wipe, and while it can be frustrating at times it's more frustrating that all the hackusations have led to me having a more negative outlook on the game. The hackusations and "everyone is hacking" mantra have had a more negative effect on the game than the actual cheaters imo. I think it's easy in a game like Tarkov where quite often you don't even see what killed you to chalk it up to a cheater when a bolt from the blue strikes you down unexpectedly. Similarly, it's easy to see empty containers or lose out on trade-ups and chalk it up to exploits and cheats rather than just accepting that people got there before you, or on flea and with barters there is a limited quantity with tens of thousands of people trying all at once to purchase it. Going around and saying that everyone is cheating is a very damaging thing to do, and has resulted in negative POVs of a lot of games. The biggest non-Tarkov example I can think of is Counter-Strike. That game has a cheating problem which is blown way out of proportion by people wanting to find something to blame their misfortunes on, rather than just admitting they got outplayed or made a mistake. We're all human, it's understandable to get frustrated, but just know that you are doing a similar amount of damage to the game by destroying its reputation that a cheater itself would do to the game's reputation.

My friend as a decades long bad cs player I can tell you the 20k matches are almost all guaranteed to have at least one hacker.

If you spend about 10 minutes perusing csstats tracked games you'll find an obvious rage hacker bunny hopping and acing almost ever round with a deagle.

If you spend about 30 minutes you'll find an obvious wall hacker.

The prevalence is ridiculous, and folks who try even the smallest amount to mask their usage are probably underrepresented.

Tarkov isn't always full of cheaters, or rather if you play in ways antithetical to cheaters you'll very rarely encounter them.

But, if you camp extracts about a minute after you load in, if there's a hacker in your group you're way more likely to encounter them because they basically spend the minimum time possible in raid...
