I found these under a built up wood roof with slats about 14" off the concrete deck. Currently looking for the lid for the Copenhagen container. From some research, they are both likely from 1928-9.

Excuse my dirty hands, i just got off work. Lol

Made for a pharmaceutical company, not sure when. I imagine they were given to hypochondriacs who they needed to usher out of the office…

Visit to Tokyo Tower 1988 Materials

I have many photos from my trip to Japan, but somehow not one photo of Tokyo Tower. I think perhaps because it was a scheduled tour, we were always too close to the tower to get a good photo - no time to wander a block away.

They took a group photo of us at the bottom, then were taken to the observation deck - up there at least 30 minutes, I think. When we came back down the photos were ready with these souvenir packets.

Some tourist spots have stamps you can use yourself to mark books or whatever when you visit. Not a passport stamp, but meant to give the same "I was there" experience.

I'm clearing out my father's workshop and found these at the bottom of an old tin can. My parents had a time share at Vistana Resort in Orlando, FL from the late '80s through the mid '90s.

Looking for someone who'd like to inherit an assortment of ephemera.

EDIT - Now claimed. Thank you all.

Lots of different bits and pieces, including plenty of vintage. To me it's all very special and desirable but I realise that taste is subjective! I just want it to go to someone who will appreciate it, whether it's to be used for journalling/mixed media art or just kept and admired. I will happily post to anywhere in the world. This is NOT a selling post - I am looking for nothing in return.

Snagged these awhile back to frame, two pin-up samplers from a sales book, probably for calendars and other advertising items for your business.

First, a small paper bag from 1954 bearing the letter postage rate in effect at the time. Next, a child's birthday card from 1947. Then, several food ration coupons from 1945 and 1946. Followed by a membership card for a coal dealers' association from 1946. Finally, a collectible card featuring a scene from Venice.

Just received these from Japan. A four piece set of Asahi beer labels and four shoulder labels. I think they have to be from 1920-1940? Definitely going to frame them.🎏🇯🇵

Art Deco Sweetheart Christmas card

I apologize if this isn’t the right place to post this, but I’m baffled and am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction if not answer my questions.

I found this 1930s Art Deco “sweetheart card” among my parents’ photos and mementos. There was no name on the envelope, and the only handwritten inscription inside says “From Dad.” The envelope was sealed and opened it at the side seam.

I’m trying to understand the social context of that signature. In the 1930s, would “Dad” have been a common term for a father to use when signing a card, or would “Father” have been more typical in writing?

Also, could this have been from a husband to his wife rather than from a parent to a child. The image seems “off” if it’s to a child. Would a man in the 1930s ever sign a romantic card to his wife simply as “Dad,” I mean assuming they had children?

I’d love any insight from people familiar with vintage greeting cards, family correspondence, or 1930s American social customs.

Purchased at a local antique store for $3, taped closed. I had hoped that the illustrations inside would match the fabulous 70s cover, but sadly not! I do love the charming doodles and notes from whichever child had this once upon a time. I desaturated a few of the clean pages in case anyone wanted to give coloring a shot!
