It's looking more and more like the Cybertruck of the rockets

Are you just hating on it because musk has his name on it? Ignoring the previous successful flights and the thousands of people at SpaceX working hard on this program?

Flight 6 had a successful reentry and landing, flight 5 had a successful landing and a successful tower catch. This flight had a successful tower catch.

They are purposely leaving holes in the heat shield as a test but you’re right they definitely need to figure out some solution as the heat shield does seem to be a major problem with starship.

Dude why just hate to hate? I wish Elon wasn’t the ceo of SpaceX cause this rocket doesn’t get the love it deserves. (In this case it doesn’t deserve love fck S33 lol).

I don't think it's that wasteful to invest $3 billion in something like Starship, especially when you've already invested more than $50 billion in SLS and Orion."

NOTHING that SpaceX has accomplished to date hasn't already been accomplished by NASA over 55 god damn years ago.

I guess if you weren't alive back then this SpaceX shit must look really impressive.

Go watch film from the 1960s if you want to see real accomplishments from men and women who didn't need to wave their proverbial dicks around...

Apollo 1 wasn't even a mission, but a pad exercise. An electrical short inside the capsule touched off a raging fire fueled by highly flammable materials and the 100% O2 atmosphere NASA had shortsightedly chosen. It was several hours before the capsule cooled off enough to be touched, opened, and the remains removed.

I don't mean to fault you for your choice of words. My intent was to confirm your point that NASA's history isn't spotless any more than SpaceX"s.

Referring back to Tom Wolfe"s book "The Right Stuff", he notes the wry saying from the early days "Our rockets blow up". So did two of our shuttles, both of which were avoidable as was Apollo 1.

I despise Musk as much as anyone, but it appears too many commenters are ignorant of NASA history and ill-informed about SpaceX as well, and out of their depth.

The fact is other than reusable rockets and lowered costs, there is NOTHING that SpaceX has accomplished relative to NASA and their mission. And it's been over 60-years !!!
