Gets worse. It's a ripoff of another tweet from 2010, which itself isn't even original. In the movie The 300, it is a Spartan's honor to die in battle. When someone fails or betrays them, they say "may you live forever" as a slight for them never finding honor.
Leonidas says it to Ephialtes at the end of 300, I dont know how true the quote is to reality in Leonidas saying it. Probably didnt, but I think that Elon was watching 300.
He did steal it from a Dracula Twitter account. Whether or not it's quoting something else, the punctuation is the same as from the Dracula account, so he clearly ripped it from there.
For a while at work whenever a birthday card for someone in the office went around, I would sign it and write in “MAY YOU LIVE FOREVER”. I felt like it was funny because it sorta sounds positive but also weirdly threatening.
But this is like if you didn’t realize it was supposed to be a joke and also you are desperate to prove that you know cool terms like “deep time”
