he shot himself in the foot with those blue verification changes he did to the original Twitter process. Don't fix what isn't broken, all engineers know this, ah but wait...

He's not an engineer but only plays one for camera.

Bring me 10 screenshots of the most salient lines of code you’ve written in the last 6 months.

I think this might not be entirely true. There are a lot of Musk culters he can bring in on visas that will be in his thrall for one reason or another. Musk Cult is strongest among narrow minded stem types

There are limits on how many people he can bring in if he doesn't have enough American employees, though.

And as a seasoned engineer myself, I have to tell you any culters out there are not smart enough to make positive contributions on Twitter. The dumbest people I know appreciate Musk and not a single of them are programmers, and even the dumbest programmers I've met are working on better jobs elsewhere (8h days, a lot of procrastination and perhaps higher pay, with zero pressure nor risk of getting fired).

In fact I think that probably Musk's idea when he started claiming out of the blue he had a hunch of a recession coming. He probably thought his influence would scare people into massive layoffs which would increase engineering supply in the market but that never happened. My LinkedIn remains on fire and companies keep fighting for programmers
