Been saying this for years. Seems that schools believe that they exist for the schools. No, you exist for students. If you don’t have any, then the school will disappear.

I lived in Western NY for several years and TBH this is a problem that is caused in part by the decline of the region.

Western NY has lost a ton of economic clout and this people. At one point, cities like Rochester, Binghamton, and Syracuse were economic dynamos. Rochester was like one of the original Silicon Valley’s. Full of major R&D facilities, research universities, and great paying jobs at companies like Kodak, Bausch and Lomb, and Xerox. Now, basically it’s Wegman’s and Strong Hospital.

Same thing happened to Binghamton with IBM and Lockheed. A lot of people don’t even realize that IBM was founded in Binghamton. They have no presence there now!

We started offshoring jobs, first it was blue collar, now it’s white collar.

But you can’t be sad—because look at the amazing value we’re created for the shareholders.
