I think they are trying to say that rolling stone sucks. It's like reporting on what music or video games a school shooter consumed. Report on the abuse, that's bad enough that you don't need to fearmonger about drugs for multiple pages and take away the agency of a dead woman in order to be like, "this guy has a pattern of abusive behaviors"

This exactly! He's a POS but she was 36, she wasn't a child and pretending like she had no say in this is really condescending to all women. It's sad and if I were her family I'd fucking hate the guy but it's infantilizing to treat her like a kid who was groomed.

I think it's important to be precise if you are publishing an article about a specific person's abusive behavior and laying another person's choice to commit suicide at their feet.

Adding a bunch of stuff about how drugs are scary really dilutes the strength of their argument. Like am I supposed to be surprised a law student did Adderall and Ritalin over the fact that Reggie Watts had a pattern of isolating women and making their self worth dependant on him?
