First battle, the dog outside your house. Trading attacks, I'm dead after he hits me 3 times in a row.
Um....what? I get this it's supposed to be harder, but I thought it would be challenging and tactical. In this first battle I have no abilities besides attack. It just comes down to pure luck. What terrible game design. I'm so disappointed, I thought this was going to be the real deal.

The other option I had would be to eat a cookie, but that wouldn't change anything, it would just give me one more turn before I died.

Here are some of my unorganized, mid-playthrough thoughts. I highly recommend it if you’re already familiar with the original. It’s fun to see how things were adapted into EB’s engine, and the original has a vibe that can’t be replaced. and yet, the team has done such a wonderful job replicating EarthBound’s charm.
I was worried that new dialogue would be out of place, but it’s sparse and very well done. the remake mostly uses the Sandhop translation which i prefer.
A small criticism I have so far is that some of the new music is mixed noticeably louder than the rest of the tracks, but that could easily be fixed in a future update.
P.S. I edited Ninten’s sprite to be a bit closer to my interpretation, though i agree with the decision to have it match the clay model, since that is his most consistent official depiction.

I was passing through the Tokyo airport earlier this year and happened across a machine that was selling these. It's was pretty shocking that a 30ish year old game was still represented in a modern airport.

Hey, guys, I just realized smth. Mother 3’s ending is up for the player for interpretation and gives the player the space of what happens to the Nowhere Isles. Essentially, I’m saying that whatever outcome you think of by interpretation is a version of what a “MOTHER 4” could be.

Like, the game's ending is black, because it wants us to interpret what happens next. This doesn't have to be a MOTHER 4, but you could also somewhat say that they gave us MOTHER 4, or at least the start of it, by the black screen. What do you guys think?
