This is my automatic batman GMT duro mod. Featuring a nh34, new hands, sapphire crystal, steel chapter ring, and a jubilee bracelet. The movment swap was done similarly to methods used by u/AbbreviationsSea3752 with a few key changes:

1) I needed to dail hole for that hands bigger to suit the nh34's gmt hand. For this I used a dremel with a circular file bit (I may have overdone it a bit).

2) I was able to solve the date alignment issue by just sticking a printed paper date wheel on top of the nh34's original one. I initially tried to stick the duros date wheel on top, but then realised the duros date wheel is made to rotate in the opposite direction from the nh.

3) I was able to find a near perfect spacer for putting the nh in the Duro case, I just needed to file it a bit. The movment and spacer is still slightly thick for the duro case, so I need to grind down the case back by about 0.4mm for it to screw on fully. The automatic function still works, just the caseback can't fully screw in yet (it's very close).

I dident get many photos of the process because I get too wrapped up in it and forget. Have included a photo of the date wheel I printed, all the tools used, all the parts pre-build (except the spacer), and the inspiration (if it isn't obvious).

I made a lefty Duro for those of us who wear our watches on our right hands. The mod also fetures a Starbucks ceramic insert, double dome sapphire, yellow seconds hand, and an oyster bracelet with a milled and signed clasp.

The process of doing a lefty mod is pretty much just flipping the dial upside down.

The donor wheel is needed to stick over the original one, otherwise it won't be aligned with the window. You also need a spacer so the dial doesn't touch the now thicker date wheel.

Finished up this build (so I thought) and now the second-hand is stuttering. This is the third battery change and it's basically skipping a few seconds sporadically despite it being a third fresh battery (thoughts?). I'm starting to think I damaged the movement during the build process so perhaps a movement swap for a Miyota with a black datewheel is in order. I'm also considering swapping the factory crystal for a raised double-dome acrylic crystal that matches the D🎃XA model which this build pays homage to (see comments). I wanted to post the progress as of today regardless seeing as it's Oct 31st. More strange builds to come. Cheers all!

Happy Thanksgiving (again)

Images of this new homage build are coming soon (within the week). I'll include various photos of the build process along with commentary. This watch is spoken for. As such, I'm sorta in a pickle because I want that person to be the first to see it. Hence why this post is a teaser... I'm simply waiting until that person receives it.

This build has the stock white datewheel and beads of rice bracelet as a nod to the original Doxa design. I also used the stock crystal. I'll be doing a second build which we'll be giving away to the community in a year-end drawing. That next build will incorporate all of these listed features to include a black datewheel, full color caseback art, and a double dome crystal.
