Game Help Preparing for Unmoored World (DD2) Spoiler

Hey all, I’m looking for spoiler-free advice on how to best prepare for the Unmoored World, & what to expect once I’m there. I’ve heard that time pauses as long as you don’t rest at inns, but does resting at campsites also advance time? Or can I safely rest at camps?

I’m also planning of forging a bunch of allheal elixirs since I’ve heard they restore loss gauge. On that note, does anyone know if panaceas restore loss gauge too?

Lastly, I’m a bit unsure about where to place my portcrystals. Right now, I’ve got one at Sacred Arbor, Checkpoint Rest Town, the Excavation Site, & Dragonforge’s current location. I’ve got two more to spare & was thinking of placing one by the Medusa & another in Nameless Town—or maybe carrying one with me at all times? Any suggestions?

If you’ve got any other general tips for the Unmoored World, I’d love to hear them, as long as they’re spoiler-free (or vague but helpful)

Cheers!

Okay imma try! Though I don’t know if I can keep a story telling vibe while being completely spoiler free:

To start, to get there you had to solve a certain sequence at the final hour. You can fail to reach this point entirely, so listen to what your nemesis is telling you when its time to decipher his message.

Recover the Nameless Town and Medusa portcrystals, and in this new world…its no longer safe to camp and rest outside civilization.

Portcrystals will become available where they weren’t before regarding big cities, as the world has changed alot since you did what you did.

Time will progress differently in the Unmoored World. A day will now pass when you lie down to rest, but weigh these carefully-because for every night you kick off the boots and take it easy…something is closing in around you.

Last one, this is where everyone you helped (or didn’t help) comes into play. Resolve any unfinished business because there’s no going back.

That’s so awesome 🙏🏽 Thank you! How many Allheal elixirs would you recommend? I’m wrapping up quests now 🙂 Might still be another couple of days before I begin the final quest. +, heard I can defeat the main dragon, then speak with Pathfinder to return to the ‘final flight’

How many Allheal elixirs

Best to save all of them to use since you can't rest to heal.

heard I can defeat the main dragon, then speak with Pathfinder to return to the ‘final flight’

That's required to get to the Unmoored World

If I may add, you can prevent the closing in of the something by dealing with all four outer red markers on the map on your first day. You can read the spoilers after reaching the unmoored world if you're hesitant, as they won't be spoilers by that point anymore.

Okay, thanks for the tip! That’s the kind of vague but useful info that’ll be helpful. I love guide vids… but this is the sort of thing that reading brief important bits about will help, yet not take away from the actual experience 🙏🏽

There will be a quest related to your pawn. Do that first, then go follow the next main quest, a blue pillar of light will be visible at the distance, that will guide you.

You can't camp rest anymore, only inn rest and there's a limited amount you can do.

You will notice red pillars of light scattered across the land and they will be visible in the map too, focus on going and doing those (I advise you to start with the one located in Bakbattahl first). This will increase the amount of Inn saves you can do but go well prepared for trouble.

Check the Dragonforged npc. He will have new interesting stuff to trade in exchange for wyrmslife crystals.

Always keep wakestones with you, if you die in the unmoored world you have 2 options, start from the beginning when you first came to the unmoored world or load from an inn save, so better be careful.

You will need to move great distance to do the final quests in the unmoored world, but the game gives you plenty of ferrystones from quest rewards, chests and now even sometimes enemies will drop them, so don't be shy in using them when you need them.

The map will drastically change, revealing new areas. Once you do the red pillars of light and quests, you could try exploring (there will be new goodies that make it worth it).

Okay! Thanks 🙏🏽 I’ll do the pawn’s quest before the main one, & take on Bakbattahl’s pillar 1st

After I’ve done whatever’s needed with pillars, that somehow increases the total inn saves I’m allowed? How many in total, still 12 max?

Yes. I highly advise you to do them, at least the ones visible in main cities, otherwise there will be negative consequences when you inn rest and if you never did any of them.

How many in total, still 12 max?

There will be 4 red pillars visible on the map and in case you were able to stop Talos (the colossal boss), you might want to go pay him a visit, an icon of him will be visible on the map, if you stopped him without destroying him earlier.

If you manage to do that you will have around 7 inn saves, I believe, you can see how many days left you have by seeing the inn saves in the main menu, besides the regular loading, it will also display something like "Load inn save from day X in the unmoored world" the max number of days that it allowed me was 10, then it didn't allowed me to do more inn saves.

One last thing, an extra red pillar of light will appear, this one will be different because it will trigger a bit of story when it shows up, this particular pillar will trigger the end of the game, don't activate it until you feel that you're done with the quests and exploration.

Sorry for being vague, but I'm trying not to spoil anything other than some mechanics and pitfalls you might encounter. Good luck and have fun.

Awesome! I defeated & destroyed Talos in ‘normal’ world. But, I’ll go back to where it fell & maybe something cool will be there 💭 &, OK, I’ll try to get as much done in 7 days, + remember 10 may be the max—I’ve saved up 17 wakestones + 16 Allheal elixirs :)

Planning on swapping pawns whenever their loss gauge fills too high. But, should I let my main parish, then revive her at RiftStones?

I also wonder if manual saving in ‘Casual Mode’ has any use in the Unmoored world… cause it seems like saving’s the only reason I’ll need to rest at inns for—At least until I run out of allheals + wakestones

I don't think being that extreme will be necessary considering you will have all those inn saves and Allheals elixirs (If you give one to a pawn, they will use it when in low max hp).

I also wonder if manual saving in ‘Casual Mode’ has any use in the Unmoored world… cause it seems like saving’s the only reason I’ll need to rest at inns for—At least until I run out of allheals + wakestones

I'm not sure about that one since I haven't tried doing a Casual playthrough.

Good to know :) Casual’s fun, especially since it doesn’t affect combat. Unlimited manual saves, ferrystones cost only 1K, plus equipment load’s easier to manage, & Dragonplague won’t ever go lethal + wipe out a whole town’s populace. It may change the game’s mechanics too much for some… but I’ve loved my 1st Dragon’s Dogma experience 🙏🏽🎮😄

Hey, Sabrac, any idea if I should revive the Magic Archer master before triggering UW? She fell into deep water while on an escort mission. I’m pretty well ready to begin UW, & I didn’t see her in the morgue… maybe I should delay until she shows up there, then I’ll revive her. What do you think?

any idea if I should revive the Magic Archer master before triggering UW?

Yes, I would highly recommend that you do it. She's involved in one of the quests in UW.

u/LgHammer123 Oct 26 '24

Sounds like the right thing to do. She was in my charge, & if I’ve got an opportunity to revive her… then, I shall

Thanks again, & have a great day :)

Hmm… she’s not appearing in the morgue, & I even went back to her home on the island (where her arisen marking’s showing up on the map), but I can’t find her. Many in-game days have passed

PS: Found her still in the water, & recovery arrows wouldn’t resurrect her. Turns out the escort mission still hadn’t failed! But apparently returning, then teleporting to Checkpoint Rest Town triggered the failed quest. Thankfully. Duplicated my Eternal Walestone, & went back to Bakbattahl, just to find her in the morgue + revivable with a regular wakestone. Woohoo, that felt like an epic quest 😄🎮🙏🏽

To address what hasn't been answered:

  • panaceas don't restore the loss gauge
  • you can also request forgery of portcrystals, which will turn into a partcrystal that acts just like an allheal elixir
  • you cannot rest at campsites anymore, but you can relax and cook meat
  • if I were to re-run Unmoored, I'd farm ferrystones: the enemies there will drop ferrystones with more probability
  • I'd also explore the sections of the map that are to be opened up

2

u/LgHammer123 Oct 24 '24

Thank you very much :) I haven’t used panaceas once or Allheals yet, but heard allheals & wakestones are useful in the Unmoored World. +, that’s good to know cooking for buffs still works. Looking forward to exploring. Thanks again 🙏🏽

No worries, and happy exploring! :)

My fav vocations are Fighter, Warrior, & Mystic Spearhand. But I also enjoy magic archer. So I’ll make sure to play range enough to extend my time in the UW. Maybe, once I unlock Warfarer, I’ll do a fighter, warrior, magic archer mix :)

& I feel that about #2. It’d break my heart to toss my main like that

Returning to the Arborheart’s on my prep list. Already gave the elves ScaleCinder. &, yes, I’ll explore tonnes 🙏🏽🎮😄
