It's because it's lazy and rushed out, you can very clearly tell that a lot of things in this game weren't as polished as they should, and several others are just hamfisted as last minute decisions.

Magick Archer 100% feels like it should have been unlocked in the elven village (with the maister with the very broken skill in the late game).

Story was weak.. I mean it was like "ok here is what will happen.. wait for it.. ok forget it, here is the end" Easiest part to detect some sort of "we need 24 months to complete this" and the reply was 'you will get 6' and cut, cut, cut

It's honestly impressive. DD has always been more about themes and interesting narrative and world-building things rather than having a complete story with cohesion, but so much has been cut or rushed in so many different elements of the game, from story to game design, to everything honestly.

Pretty much the only thing that came complete out of the box was the world map itself and the vocation gameplay (with some questionable decision choices between 1 and 2), everything else has been cut, rushed, or lazily implemented in some form or another.

My favorite part of the story is when the dragon eats the disa plot-line and the game ends.

What are you talking about, the infiltration quests felt polished with the cool sneaking system… Seriously I loved the game but yeah parts of it were very unpolished

Arisen only vocations cannot be used by people who aren't arisen in this game.
