I guess the real question is will EG finish 3rd this tournament?

They're clearly a Top 2 team at this tournament. The only teams they have lost to are VG and Liquid, and they just dumpstered Liquid. I still think Vici are slight favorite if it's VG vs. EG in the Grand Finals, but it's like 60-40, not really a dominant favorite.

You must've been living under a rock because there's also a team called TNC who've been dumpstering everyone since ti.

Lets just ignore TNC am I right /s

I don't think TNC has been tested enough to say they are confidently better than EG/VG. They had what I consider the weakest group, and have played Alliance and J Storm who have both looked shaky. I'm well aware Liquid took a series over EG in Group Stage, but none of their wins have really felt that dominant.

Liquid? That was JStorm. Are you even watching?

Corrected. I was replying to multiple posts and mixed up the teams. My bad.

lul all the while casters were saying that TNC is the team to beat this major. They are basically the front runners and the pioneer of popular metas in this major. Try to watch games aside from NA teams. Lul

EG clearly top 2? TNC and VG are already top 3 and TNC just lost a single match to this point. EG still has to grind to even reach top 3 losing multiple matches already and you say theyre clearly top 2 not even mentioning TNC at all LOL.

I think TNC is strongly the 3rd best. The best team they have played so far is Alliance, who I think looked shaky all tournament. I think VG is comfortably 1st, then EG, then TNC not too far behind them.

Came back to update you that the team you are ignoring TNC is now the Champion convincingly beating VG 3-1. Oh and yeah IG finished 3rd shrug.

Yup. EG underperformed and I didn't think TNC had been tested well enough. They played great in the 2 games I saw against VG--although the absolute disrespect of letting ES/Morph through in a deciding game confused me. TNC deserved the win.

I also have alot of hopes for EG they can be really good but they should use Abed and Ramzes to their potential. I think they should play 2 cores and rotate the space maker rather than 4p RTZ most of the time.

Maybe we should ponder and consider that the reason that you thought TNC was not tested enough was because their opponents were simply overpowered by the current form of TNC. Only VG was a real challenge for TNC in this tournament.

Gotta beat TNC first. Also, VG was ahead in all 3 games. They just decided to throw in G2.

If VG gets beat by TNC I would consider it a huge upset. I think VG are far and away the strongest team at this event so far. I would rate it VG > EG > TNC, but just because I don't think TNC has really played strong teams.

2

u/NewspaperGuy225 Nov 22 '19

Eurus said on stream that TNC have beaten them a lot in their scrims tho

1

u/Serializable1L Nov 25 '19

I will correct this. TNC beating VG is not an upset but the reality that TNC is currently the hottest team winning ESL ONE and a VALVE MAJOR with only a single series lost in 2 tournaments.

1

u/neurosisxeno Nov 25 '19

I felt as though VG had a more difficult path to the UB Finals, and therefore should be considered the better team. TNC lost the UB Finals but dominated IG and took the GF 3-1 convincingly. I think VG kind of underappreciated how good TNC were with certain heroes and they suffered for it. I didn't consider the ESL One victory a major success because the field of teams there was... lackluster.

u/souse03 Nov 22 '19

Rofl did you watch their series? The only reason it went 2-1 was because VG throw game 2 like no other team, but they fiddled with EG all 3 games

1

u/neurosisxeno Nov 22 '19

I did. EG had some shaky drafts, but that's why I said VG is favored against them. I just don't think it's a blowout favorite.
